CHAPTER 8-RIDE OR DIE

1603 Words
*Seb's POV* I knew there was something up the moment I walked into my dad's office. I didn't bother with knocking. He never cared if it was me. My dad was staring blankly at the computer in front of him. He didn't seem to even notice me. "Dad." He looked up at me blankly and let out a heavy sigh. "Sorry son. This report has got me all fired up." He rubbed his face with his hand. I walked around his massive desk to stand behind him and look at his computer screen with him. "What are we looking at?" My dad seemed to have pulled up an old documentary of the pack. Or what seems to be our pack. "I'm trying to find the history behind your mate's pack. I could only find this." Oh. The screen was filled with lines and lines of words, almost too blurry to read. “Just get Reed to read it.” Reed was our pack’s “librarian.” He wasn’t actually a librarian but he hung out in the library all day, so we just called him that. “Sebastian. This is a private matter between pack alphas. We can’t just let a random pack member become briefed upon this matter.” I raised an eyebrow at my dad calling Reed “random.” “Okayyyyyy dad.” I shook my head in amusement and turned my attention back to the screen before sighing in exasperation. “Dad. I can’t read any of this. Are you even sure any of this is necessary?” My dad swiveled in his chair to turn to me. “Listen to yourself, son. Your mate fell out of a tree almost on top of our greatest warriors! How he got there is absolutely beyond me, but as this pack’s alpha, I have the greatest responsibility to protect us from any outside forces that are working against us.” I frowned at this. Of course, my dad had told me how his warriors had found my mate. But thinking he could be working against my pack made my wolf pace angrily. “He’s my mate, dad.” “Yes, exactly!” My dad cut in, leaning heavily against his chair in frustration. “That is the only reason why I have not thrown him off our lands yet.” I growled angrily as my dad suggested separating me and my mate. Shaking the rising anger, I turned away from my dad. “He’s like a puppy, dad. What can a puppy who lost his entire pack do to ours?” My dad shook his head and sighed, turning back to his computer. “We’ll talk about this some other time, son. I have to finish deciphering this and you should go spend time with your mate.” I glared angrily at my father for dismissing me like I was another lowly ranked member, then stomped out of his office. I knew he knew that I was angry. But I also knew that he wouldn't do anything about my anger until he figured out whatever was going on with my mate. I shut the door behind me and then leaned against it, tiredly. I just couldn't wrap my head around my dad, thinking my mate was some kind of terrorist. It made my wolf pace in my head, making my head pound. “Would you please, stop.” I said angrily to my wolf. “Our mate is not a terrorist. He wouldn’t hurt a fly.” He growled back at me. I rolled my eyes at his tantrum. I pushed myself off the door and started making my way down the hall. Maybe spending some time with my mate could help calm the tsunami in my head. “Seb. How’d it go?” Dom’s voice chimed in my head. “Dad’s on a murder spree, Dom. Basically claimed our mate was gonna destroy our pack.” I rubbed my temples as Dom’s growl filled my head. “Please stop with the growling. My head hurts enough as it is.” My wolf let out a whine, feeling my pain. “Sorry.” “How’s it going with our mate?” I asked my brother as I rounded the corner of the hallway. I could feel my brother’s excitement through the link as I made my way down the stairs. “I told him we could take him out racing.” My brother’s excitement was contagious as his voice filled my head. “Hurry up and get down here. We haven’t gone racing in so long.” I jogged the last few stairs and hurried towards the garage. **** *Rin’s POV* I was examining the details of Dom’s car with as much interest as I could muster when Seb suddenly burst through the door. His eyes darted around the garage before lighting up when they landed on me. “Hey!” He grinned happily before making his way towards me. I couldn’t help but smile back at him as he came nearer. He took me by surprise, however when he didn’t just stop in front of me but instead buried his head into my neck. He nuzzled his nose into my neck, taking a big whiff of my scent. “That tickles!” I giggled as his nose trailed farther up to my jaw. He let out a throaty sound and kissed the edge of my jaw. His hands cupped my jaw and he brought his forehead to touch mine. “Hi.” He let out a soft sigh as I spoke. His eyes were closed and it gave me the chance to study his sharp features. Even though I had only spent such a short time with my mates, I was already so comfortable around them. Seb’s face had soft lines, going up to shape his sharp cheekbones. I was startled as his eyes opened to stare into mine. His dark eyes swirled with emotions that were too hard to read. Before I had time to react, his lips were on mine, warm and soft. I kissed him back with as much energy I could muster, wrapping my arms around his neck. One of his hands drifted down to my waist, pulling me closer to him. I let out a whine as the kiss became even more rough. He released my lips, only to leave me gasping for air as he continued his attack on my neck. As his lips wrapped around a certain sensitive part of my neck, I let out a soft moan. I was left wanting more, as Seb stepped away from me. I opened my eyes, feeling cold from the loss of my mate. Seb was grinning down at me as I shyly looked away from him. “Are you guys done now?” Dom’s voice made me sharply turn to face him. He seemed amused at our interaction as he pocketed his phone and made his way towards us. “I-I-” I stammered, unsure, as Dom approached me. “I want a kiss too,” was all I heard before Dom’s lips wrapped around mine. His kiss was rough, knocking my breath out of my lungs, as I tried to kiss him back with just as much fervor. His lips were soft and I let out a sound as his tongue brushed against my bottom lip. I was left gasping for breath as he pulled away, smirking. I turned a bright red and covered my face with my hands. “That’s-s not fair! You-u guys!” I whined, peeking through my fingers to see both my mates smirking at me. I could feel my face slowly getting more red. “Heh. Come on, mate. Who are you gonna ride with?” I slowly dropped my hands to my sides and looked up to see both my mates grinning down at me. “Um-m. Both-h?” I felt extremely submissive and shy as I stared up at my mates. I watched meekly as Dom and Seb exchanged looks. Then Seb turned to me and started grinning like a maniac. “You’re coming with me, pup.” **** I had just fastened my seatbelt when Seb reached over and opened the compartment under the dash. He reached inside and pulled out two pairs of sunglasses. “Here.” He handed me one and I turned towards him curiously. “How are we going to ride without sunglasses?” He slid his pair on and turned to me with a smirk. Dear goddess, help me. How was he so hot? I slid my sunglasses on as quickly as I could, trying to hide my ever reddening face. Then I turned to Seb, “How’s it look?” I watched as he gave me a wide grin. “You look great.” He whispered in my ear, smirking when my face slowly turned red. I was so glad the sunglasses covered half of my face. It was so hard to maintain eye contact with him. The sound of a car revving awoke me from my daze. Both me and Seb turned our attention to the sleek black car next to us. Dom’s window was open and he was smirking as he shouted over the noise, “See ya at the finish line, losers!” The window slid shut and he zoomed out without a second glance. My eyes widened as I watched him speed off. Seb pulled the stick forwards, stepping on the gas, grinning devilishly. “Get ready for the ride of your life, little mate.”
