Chapter 3

1016 Words
"I... I should've known," I whimpered softly, my voice filled with disappointment. The events that had unfolded had caught me completely off guard, and the betrayal I felt was overwhelming. As I was forced into the car, I couldn't help but wonder why Alpha Rozan hadn't come out to see me, to offer some explanation for what was happening. My mind raced with questions, desperately seeking answers that seemed to elude me. How could Isabelle, who had become the Luna, make such a decision without Alpha Rozan's agreement? It simply didn't make sense. I had spent six years under their care, and I couldn't think of anything I had done to deserve this treatment. Tears welled up in my eyes as I cried softly, the weight of confusion and hurt pressing down on me. "We will soon arrive," the woman named Rosa said, breaking the silence. I turned my attention to her, hoping for some clarity in this bewildering situation. She introduced herself as Mrs. Rosa and pointed to the man driving, who she called Beta Jasper, her husband. They had been working for Alpha Damien for 28 years, she explained. As my mind tried to process this new information, Mrs. Rosa continued to speak, her voice filled with a mixture of excitement and congratulations. She revealed that I was the newest bride of Alpha Damien, the Alpha of the Silverwood Pack. Congratulations were offered, but instead of feeling joy, a wave of nausea washed over me. The stories I had heard about Alpha Damien flooded my mind, painting a picture of a heartless, cruel man who changed women like his clothes and disposed of them when they were no longer of use. Mrs. Rosa warned me about the rules that surrounded Alpha Damien. I was to never disrespect him or speak unless spoken to. Questions were forbidden, and failure to adhere to these rules would result in severe punishment. She even revealed a scar on her wrist, a chilling reminder of the consequences that awaited those who crossed the line. Fear and shock gripped me as the reality of my situation sank in. I had willingly entered the car with them, unaware of the fate that awaited me in the Silverwood Pack. Panic set in, and I pleaded with them to take me back to Alpha Rozan, hoping that some shred of compassion would touch their hearts. But my pleas fell on deaf ears. I was reminded that I had been sold to Alpha Damien, and I no longer belonged to the Blood Moon Pack. Confusion clouded my thoughts as I tried to piece together the timeline of events. How had Alpha Damien known about me? Why had he chosen me as his bride? The questions swirled in my mind, demanding answers that remained elusive. Desperate for some semblance of understanding, I turned to Mrs. Rosa, hoping she would shed some light on the mystery that surrounded my situation. But all she offered were cryptic words: "Anything Alpha Damien wants, he gets." The words hung in the air, leaving me with more questions than before. As the car sped along, the journey to the Silverwood Pack became shrouded in mystery. I tried to inquire about our destination, but the responses I received were vague and evasive. The uncertainty added to the growing sense of unease within me, heightening the suspense and making every minute feel like an eternity. Finally, Beta Jasper announced that we had arrived. Mrs. Rosa's smile returned, but her chilling gaze sent shivers down my spine. We had reached our destination, the Silverwood Pack, but what awaited me there was still unknown. The air was thick with anticipation and apprehension as I stepped out of the car, my heart pounding heavily As I stepped out of the car, my eyes widened in awe at the sight before me. The Silverwood Pack's palace stood tall and majestic, exuding an aura of power and mystery. Its grandeur was undeniable, with intricate carvings adorning the walls and large, ornate doors beckoning me inside. As I approached the entrance, the pain of Alpha Kade's rejection suddenly vanished, replaced by a sense of anticipation and curiosity. Who was this new Alpha Damien that I was now bound to? What kind of man lurked behind the stories I had heard? I couldn't help but wonder what awaited me within those palace walls. Would I be trapped like the previous brides, never to be seen again? Or would Alpha Damien surprise me with unexpected kindness and understanding? With each step I took, the air grew heavier, charged with an unknown energy. The palace seemed to hold a thousand secrets, whispering tantalizingly in my ears. I couldn't help but feel a mixture of fear and excitement, unsure of what lay ahead. As I entered the palace, the atmosphere shifted. Gone was the pain of rejection, replaced by a sense of uncertainty and a glimmer of hope. The interior was just as breathtaking as the exterior, with opulent decorations and intricate details adorning every corner. It was a world unlike anything I had ever known, a world that held both danger and possibility. As I walked through the halls, each step echoing in the silence, I couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding. But amidst the apprehension, a spark of determination flickered within me. I would face whatever lay ahead with courage and resilience, refusing to be broken by the unknown. But just then I felt a weird pull I couldn't quite understand, I looked around and with the strange feeling I felt I knew I wasn't meant to be here at all. I need to escape as soon as possible…. But just as I began to think about a next plan I noticed that might never happen with Lady Rosa all around me, she walked towards me and with the smile on her face I could tell a lot was about to unfold. She covered up the smile with a serious look but my attention was at the door, for the closer we got there severe the pull was.
