Remember all that I told you: do not disrespect the Alpha; don’t ask questions; and answer only the questions you were asked. She spoke softly, as though she were speaking to a child.
The door opened, and she stepped out first. I glanced around, trying to study where we were. The Silverwood pack looks nothing like the Bloodmoon pack. There wasn’t a single thing that made them alike.
Even though life in the Bloodmoon Pack had been hell for me, I would choose it over this place a million times. The environment at the Bloodmoon Pack is welcoming and cheerful, even though the people there aren’t welcoming or peaceful. While here, it feels so cold and lifeless; a sense of unfamiliarity washes through me, and I really don’t like how it made me feel.
I walked slowly out of the car. I stood in front of them as Beta turned off the engine. I knew just what I had to do.
My instincts kicked in, and I started to run back to where we had just come from. I had occasionally stared outside the window to mark out important points I could use to figure out my way back.
“Amelia!!! You are making a big mistake! Mrs. Rosa called out, and as I looked back briefly, I saw Beta open the car door and start to chase after me. I can’t mess things up now; I increased my speed.
I ran and ran, and I felt like I was finally getting away, till a rush of air brushed past my shoulders. I looked to see what it was, and it was Beta trying to grab me by my shoulders.
"Run, Amelia! Run! I chanted in my head. Running straight on the road might not be the best option, as the Beta was too close to me, so I decided to run into the forest. With every strength left in me, I increased the speed, as my legs were already growing weak and I needed to get far away from him.
The thick forest made it hard for me to run fast as I couldn’t glide my feet against the floor. Maybe I made a mistake by passing here. Fear started to creep into me as I turned to look down to see if the Beta was still chasing me. I collided with a force, knocking on my door.
“Ouch!” I screamed out in pain. I looked up slowly at the figure in front of me. Fear and panic rushed through me. In front of me was a young, handsome man. He had piercing blue eyes and blond hair packed up in a ponytail. He looked like he could help.
“Please help me. I held the hem of his trousers as I tried to find my way up. There is a man chasing after me.
“Please help me. I promise to do anything you want! He remained silent as he looked down on me. Just help me this once, I pleaded. I don’t want to be a bride to a monster!”
“A monster?” He finally responded. I had started to lose hope.
"Yes, I don’t know if you have heard of him. But I was sold to Alpha Damien. I am not from around here; I am from the Bloodmoon Pack.
"Oh, I see. And what is your name? His voice sounded so soothing, I felt kind of safe.
“I am Amelia, Amelia White. He nodded softly, and as I turned to look around me, I realized we were the only ones in this thick forest. I wondered what he was doing here. Now that I looked at him well, he alluded a certain power and strength; he looked tough. He is shirtless, and his body is perfectly craved out. He is built to perfection.
He stretched out to me as he shaken me. A smile appeared on his face. I was a little surprised and taken aback.
“Nice to meet you, Amelia. I am Alpha Damien’s son. My name is Luther.” My legs felt numb, and I was left speechless. I didn’t know if I should run or try to fight for my freedom.
As we walked through the forest, my heart still racing from the adrenaline of the chase, I couldn't help but steal glances at Alpha Luther. There was something about him that drew me in, something that made me feel a sense of comfort and safety in his presence.
His piercing blue eyes sparkled with an intensity that seemed to hold a depth of understanding and compassion. They were eyes that had seen both darkness and light, yet still held a glimmer of hope. I found myself captivated by their magnetic pull, unable to look away.
His blond hair, neatly tied in a ponytail, accentuated his strong jawline and chiseled features. It was as if every line and curve of his face had been sculpted with precision, creating a perfect harmony of strength and gentleness. He exuded an aura of confidence and authority, yet there was a softness in his eyes that hinted at a deeper vulnerability.
As we walked, his presence beside me seemed to calm the storm of emotions swirling within me. His silence was not uncomfortable, but rather a moment of solace, allowing me to gather my thoughts and find my footing in this unfamiliar territory.
I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to spend more time with Alpha Luther, to unravel the layers of complexity that surrounded him. I felt a connection, a spark that ignited within me, and it both thrilled and terrified me.
As we continued our journey, my mind wandered to the stories I had heard about Alpha Damien, the man I had been sold to. He was known for his domineering and ruthless nature, a man who valued power above all else. But the contrast between him and his son, Alpha Luther, was stark. Luther seemed to possess a gentleness and kindness that I hadn't expected.
My heart ached with the realization that I had been thrust into a world where choices were limited and consequences were dire. But in the midst of it all, a glimmer of hope flickered within me, fueled by the presence of Alpha Luther.
I couldn't deny the attraction that I felt, the pull towards him that was both magnetic and undeniable. It was as if fate had brought us together in that moment, intertwining our paths and setting us on a journey that was yet to unfold.
As we walked hand in hand, I found solace in the strength of his grip, a silent reassurance that we would face whatever challenges lay ahead together. And in that moment, surrounded by the uncertainty of my new reality, I couldn't help but feel a flicker of hope ignite within me, fueled by the possibility of a connection with Alpha Luther.
“Alpha!”
I turned back swiftly. The Beta was in front of me. He slowly approached us, his eyes slowly scanning me. I gasped in fear, my eyes widened at the sight of him.
“Alpha Luther! I am sorry, the Beta begins. She ran off immediately; she got down from the car.” His head was fixed to the ground.
“No problem at all. I would keep my lips zipped. He taps the Beta gently. Before he raised his face, Beta held my hands tightly. And I whined in pain.
The Alpha then turned back to me. “You are just like the rest of them. A little piece of advice: don’t try to run off again. I might not be the one you bump into next time.” He spoke, and his deep voice sent a shiver down my spine.
“Thank you, Alpha,” the Beta called out as the Alpha turned to leave.
“Do you know how lucky you are? Before you run off next time, think of the lives you put in danger! He signed heavily before he started to pull me away.
I couldn’t comprehend just how fearful Alpha Damien is, but the realization of what I had done started to take a toll on me. What would he have done to them if I had escaped?
My thoughts go back to the Alpha I had just met; he seemed to be completely different from his father. For some reason, I felt an intense attraction to him, and I started to wonder if I would see him again.
A sudden ache grew in my heart, and I wondered what the reason was behind it.
I seem to like Alpha Luther.
