“Are you excited about the ceremony Lita?” Drew asked as he pumped his fist in his hand. “It is finally time to see your wolf. I wonder what color she will be?” “I don’t mind what color she is. I am just excited to finally meet her.” Lita twirled around in a circle, letting her dress flow away from her. “Look at the dress daddy bought me.” “Seems over the top for a dress that will be ripped into shreds soon.” Drew chuckled as he rubbed the top of her head. “But you are worth it.” “I wish when we shifted we didn’t destroy our clothes. Maybe there is a way to change that?” Lita admired her dress in the mirror for a moment longer. “Daddy, we need pictures!” “Where is my little princess?” Nathon walked around the corner filming with a camera. “There she is! The most beautiful young lady in the whole world. And next to her my strapping young man. Look at you two … so grown up. If only your mothers could see you.” Nathan shook his head. “Okay no need to get all sappy. Not today. Not when my baby girl is getting her wolf.” “Daddy.” Lita smiled at her father who began taking multiple snapshots. “Thank you so much for the dress but you spent too much money on it.” “The alpha’s daughter should have the best!” Nathan walked up to Lita and bent down to look into her beautiful green eyes. “You have so much strength inside of you and I know your wolf will be a reflection of your power.” “Thank you daddy.” “Where is Little Lita!” A young man bounced into the house. “Teo!” Drew gave his best friend a high five. “Who is this young lady? This isn’t Lita! She is too grown up to be Lita.” Matteo offered her a warm smile as he stared at her fondly. “Teo, look at you being a charmer.” Lita giggled as her father scooped her to his side. “It’s almost time. The full moon isn’t going to wait for anyone. Are you ready?” Nathon asked as his daughter nodded her head. “I’m ready.” Lita smiled. Finally, something that would make her feel like a normal pack member. Drew and Matteo lead the way out of the house as Nathon escorted his daughter behind them. They walked down the long corridor and to an outside garden. In the center of the garden were white smooth stone pebbles in the shape of the full moon. White ivory fountains trickled with water around it. Forming a wide circumference around the opening were many pack members there to witness the event. It wasn’t just Lita who would be getting her wolf today. There were a few others who were part of the ceremony as well. They would also be getting their wolves today. “Let the ceremony commence!” Nathon listened as the pack members roared in excitement. The first up was a boy with dark brown hair. Lita knew him but they never spoke … just like most of the members in the pack. Lita didn’t quite fit in but she was hoping after today that would change. The boy let out a yell as his clothes shredded and he morphed into a dark gray wolf. The wolf howled proudly in the air before taking off into the woods for his first run. The pack members clapped and cheered as a few of the members shifted to join him on the run. It was a way to make sure they didn’t get lost to their feral nature. It was rare but it happened at times. This is how it went for the next few to get their wolves. They shifted then went for their first run. Their parents and siblings joining them. Finally it was Lita’s turn. She stared at the circle as her father squeezed her shoulder. “You’ve got this, this is your moment.” She nodded her head and slowly made her way to the circle.
