Chapter Four

1581 Words
Lia’s POV It was the same man who I had found half naked on the bed with me. Finally, I got to see the Lycan president again. He had a gun in his hands and was putting on completely black attire. He was panting so fast, almost as though he was out of breath. He had blood on his face, scaring the hell out of me. “Please don't kill me. I didn't do anything” I shielded my face with my hands. He let out a chuckle, and I raised my head, just to see him glaring at me. Does he plan to behead just like Calen had said? “We have to go. "Get up!” He ordered me, and I froze. “I don't want to go anywhere with you”, I refused. “I didn't ask you if you wanted to, I said you must” he spoke, marching towards me. I gasped, ready to speak when he grabbed me by the wrist, dragging me out of bed. “Let me go." "I didn't do anything, please "I struggled to be free, but his grip on me was tight. He practically dragged me on the floor, taking me, against my will. “Where are you taking me?” I kept putting on a fight, infuriating him the more. Although he didn't say anything, I could sense his anger and disgust. Sweat gathered on my forehead when he dragged me to a dark corner. “Please don't kill me” I cried out continuously, but he didn't listen. He dragged me down some stairs. It almost felt like we were going into an underground room. My eyes were already filled with tears at this point, as he threw me into a dark room. I couldn't see his face, but I could sense his presence. I could hear him breathing. I could hear the sound of his heart beat too. That was how lonely and quiet this room was. I fell to my knees almost immediately, shutting my eyes with folded fists. “Please, just let me go” I begged for mercy, even though I hadn't done anything wrong. He switched on the lights, and I felt a bit relieved. “Do you ever shut up?” He lifted an eyebrow at me. “For the goddess's sake, we are underground. "The place is echoing, and your voice is hurting my ears,” he complained. I was torn between feeling sad and feeling confused. Otherwise, I became frozen. “I'm sorry” I tried to apologize. “Oh please!” He cursed, walking out on me. “Where are you going?” I followed him. “To fight,” he responded. “So, you're going to leave me here?” My eyes widened. “Yes, is there any problem if you stay here?” he asked me. “I… I'm scared” I replied. “Then cry, you'll feel better afterward“ his response was cold. What kind of person is he? Why is he always so cold towards me? “Please don't go” I begged him, when I noticed he still wanted to leave. “Why are you so confused? "Just a few minutes ago, you were asking me to let you go, and now you want me to stay here with you?” He lifted an eyebrow. He began to ascend the staircase and I went after him, holding on to his leather jacket. “I can't stay here on my own,” I pleaded. He tried to make me take my hand off his jacket, by brushing me away, but I slipped and was about to fall down the staircase. “Oh no!” I exclaimed, expecting my head to collide with the floor. I was shocked to discover that he had managed to catch me just in time, with his left hand around my waist and his right hand band holding on to mine. He stared at me, as though trying to look into my soul. I swallowed hard, feeling a vibration in my legs. What is wrong with me? Why am I so turned on by this? “You just can't stay away from trouble, can you?” He finally broke the silence in the room. “I didn't mean to…” I was talking before he interrupted me. “Just be quiet." "I can't stand being around you, and your voice is in my ears,” he cautioned me. I was saddened, but my fear surpassed my sadness. I ran up the staircase, rushing towards the entrance door. “What are you trying to do?” He turned to me. “I don't want you to go please. I'm scared "I begged him, locking the door. “What did you do?” His eyes widened. “I…” I stammered. He took one glance at me, and walked over to me, pushing me aside. “Hell No!!. "What have you done?” He grabbed me by the shoulders, shaking me vigorously. “I can unlock it” I stuttered. “No, you cannot. This is an emergency room, so until someone else opens the door from the outside. "We will be stuck here for the next 24 hours,” he explained, his eyes darkening. “I'm sorry. I didn't know”, I cried out. “You humans know nothing else but to kill. So, I really didn't expect you to know this much”, he hissed, walking towards the bed. “So, what do we do now?” I asked him. “You are the one that locked the door, why are you asking me that?” he lifted an eyebrow. “I'm not even with my phone, so I cannot call for help” he was disappointed, after checking his pockets. I felt so awful at that point, but a bigger side of me was happy that I would not be staying in this strange room alone. I looked around the room, taking notice of its boring ambiance. It was as boring as the owner. Thick silence spread across the room, for half an hour. The president would pace back and forth for some minutes, before he sat back in bed. “Why do you hate humans?” I finally started a conversation. He glared at me, as though tearing me to pieces with just his eyes. “My people are up there fighting for their lives, and I cannot help them, because you trapped me here with you. "Just because you didn't want to be alone, and that's what you are asking me?” He grinded his teeth. I swallowed hard, taking deep breaths before I finally found the courage to reply. “Yes,” I answered. He ignored me completely, facing the opposite direction. “Ever since I came to the packhouse. "You have been nothing but rude to me. "You haven't even come to see me once in the entire three days I have spent in the packhouse. "Don't I have the right to know what I did wrong, or being a human is my only offense?” I asked him, and he scoffed. “Yes, being a human is the biggest offense one can ever take in life. Not only are you people killers, you are manipulative and deceptive. You don't deserve my kindness in any way. I regret saving you from those werewolves. I should have just let them have their way with you. Maybe they would never have attacked my people”, he cursed. His words were like a dagger to my heart. Did he hate my species so much that he would wish such an awful thing upon me? “I am not like that, I…” I was saying before he interrupted. “You are like that!” he screamed in my face. “In fact, you are even worse than that. "You made me stay here, even though I told you I didn't want to. "If that's not manipulation, then what is?” he asked me. “I didn't mean to do it” I defended. “But, you are happy things turned out this way. Why are humans so selfish and power-hungry? "Why do you people hate to see others' progress?” He asked me, and I immediately fell silent. Suddenly, I felt suffocated. I didn't want to be in the same room as him anymore. My eyes were filled with so many tears that they began to blur my vision. He grabbed my arm forcefully, making me look him straight in the eyes as he pointed his index finger at me. “I will never be able to forgive your kindness. "You're horrible!” he spoke with so much bitterness. A lump formed in my throat, as I made silent prayers to the moon goddess. The goddess indeed grants one's heart desires, as I heard the entrance door being opened. “Caden,” I murmured, looking in the direction of the door. The president glanced at me, and back at Caden, before he pushed me away, noticing how close we were. “What took you so long?” The president was furious at Caden. “I…” Caden tried to explain, but he was quickly shoved aside by the president. “What happened? "Why are you crying?” Caden asked the moment the president walked out. “Caden” I cried out, hugging him tightly.
