Chapter 6 *CRAIG SANDERS* I carried Santana back to the car. She fainted; I think this girl is sick. Maybe that’s the reason why she’s cold towards the other people. “Hey.” I decided to call Brian. “Did you find her?” he said. “Yeah, she’s here with me, she fainted.” “What?!” He exclaimed. “We will talk about this when we get home.” He sighed. “Okay.” He said and hung up. We got home, Brian was waiting in the living room. He quickly went towards us. “How is she?” he asked looking at Santana and to my surprise took her from my arms. “Ah… well I don’t know yet.” I said and followed him to her room. Brian laid her down on her bed and brushed her hair with his hands. I’ve never seen him show this much care to another person. After his mom died, he lost his ability to show concern or even care to others. He became cold. He was so close to his mother, his father is always at work after the death of his mom. We were both shocked to find out that he was going to get married again. Brian has been my best friend since we were kids, even though I’m older than him, he shows more maturity in terms of handling responsibility. Maybe…. Just maybe, Santana has open up the old Brian that has been sleeping for a long time. After a while we both went downstairs. “I think Santana is sick.” I said and he jerked his head facing me. “What?” “Look, she always vomits and she feels dizzy every now and then. She also did that on the wedding and as what you have said before, she also fainted because she’s not feeling well, and now it happened again.” I said. He sighed. “Do… do you think she’s pregnant?” I shook my head. “I already asked her about that… but she just laughed.” I said. “So what she said nothing about it?” “She….” I stopped myself from saying any more details. I almost slipped that I kissed her. “Then… she what?” “She… she vomited again.” I said. Actually I was thinking about something else. “I think she has some… illness or disease.” Brian lowered his head. “I… I think so too.” He said in a low voice. “Do you think its cancer?” I asked. “I don’t know.” We fell silent at the moment, when Brian’s phone rang. *BRIAN HART* My phone rang and the caller I.D said its dad. “Hello?” “Brian, son, how’s everything in there?” My dad ask sounding so happy. I’ve never heard him this happy after my mom died. I guess he really loves Kris. “Dad, I think you guys should know something.” I said and released a sigh. There is silence on the other line. I heard my dad sighed. “What is it?” he said. “It’s about Santana…. I… we think that she’s sick dad.” “Santana? What do you mean?” “What about my daughter?” I heard Kris say. “Hold on I’ll put it in loud speaker.” Dad said. “Brian, what about Santee?” Kris said. I pressed my lips before speaking. “I think she’s sick. She keeps on vomiting and feels dizzy… and now she fainted.” “She fainted?!” Kris exclaimed. “Don’t worry, she’s fine now, she’s sleeping in her room.” “Okay we will come back there as soon as possible.” Dad said. “Okay… and I’m sorry.” I said. “Accompany her to the hospital if she wakes up, don’t wait for us to know her real condition. We might get back there tomorrow night.” Dad informed me and hung up. “They’re coming back?” Craig asked. I nodded. “We should rest for now.” I said and went up to my room. *SANTANA MILLER* The rays of the sun that came through my window woke me up. I’m already in my room and remembered what happened yesterday. I heard a knock on the door and someone open it… Brian. The last person that I want to see today. His brightness makes my head hurt. “Are you hungry?” He said and like a cue, my stomach rumbles and I blushed. He chuckled. “Here I made… ah… bacon and eggs.” He handed me the tray of food. “I still won’t forgive you.” I said pouting but accepted the food. He sighed. “I know.” He said and sat beside my bed. I can feel him staring at me. “Will you stop that?” “Stop what?” He said clueless. “It’s rude to stare at people who are eating, haven’t you heard about that manner?” “Oh… I just want to tell you something.” “If it’s a sorry, then forget it I won’t listen to you.” I said firmly and continued eating. He rolled his eyes. “After you’re done with that, you have to prepare, we are going… somewhere.” “And where is that somewhere?” He released another sigh. “To… the hospital.” “What? Why are we going there?” My eyes widen. “A-are you sick?” “No… it’s not me… it’s actually… you.” I raised my eyebrow. “Huh? Me? What’s wrong with me?” “Look, you fainted last night and you always vomit and you feel dizzy every now and then. Craig said that you already told him that you’re not pregnant so we thought that you are sick…. Are you?” My jaw just dropped at their assumption, they thought that I’m sick and they don’t know the reason behind it, and I can’t… must not… definitely will not tell them the reason. Over my dead body. “What… you guys think I’m sick?” I said and took a deep breath. “I know your just saying that…” “I’m not just saying it… I know it Brian. I’m not sick.” “Whatever Santee, you have to come with me to the hospital whether you like it or not. Dad and Kris already knew about this and they told me to accompany you and they will be here tonight or tomorrow.” I bolted out from my position. “What?! Why are they coming back?” “I told them about you last night.” He said. “What? Why did you do that?” I yelled at him. “Because I’m worried.” He yelled back. I was taken aback with his words. He’s worried? “Then why are you yelling at me?” “Because you’re yelling at me.” I sighed. “W-well, I’m telling you the truth… I am not sick.” “But you are.” He insisted. “You really want to do this the hard way? Fine, I will go the hospital with you, but let me call Bret.” I said. “Why?” “Duh? I won’t let your stupid assumption ruin their honeymoon.” I said. He thought about it for a while and gave me his phone. “Fine.” He said. I searched for Bret’s number and dialed it. It rang three times. “Is everything alright?” Bret said with a worried voice. “Relax Bret… it’s me Santana.” “Santana? Are you alright?” he asked and I heard my mom grab the phone from him. “Santee… Honey, are you alright?” Mom said. “Yes mom, I’m fine and please don’t call me Santee.” I said and rolled my eyes. “I know Brian told you about and exaggerated things but don’t believe him, he’s just over reacting.” I said looking at Brian who looked so dashing with his grimaced look. “But, you fainted.” “I fainted because I didn’t have lunch yesterday, and Craig scared the crap out of me that I had to run for my life. I got exhausted that’s why I passed out.” I lied. “Fine, how about the vomiting and the dizziness?” “I-I had food poisoning.” I lied again. I don’t really like lying to my mom. But I can’t tell her about my condition. “Are you pregnant?” She blurted out the same stupid question Craig asked. “No!” “If you’re not pregnant, then are you having eating disorder?” “Mom, I’m telling you that I’m fine, so you have to continue your honeymoon. Where are you by the way?” There were silence on the other line and I heard my mom exhaled.  “We’re in Dubai, at the airport to be in particular, we are waiting for our flight.” “You guys are in Dubai? Shut up!” I said. I am totally shocked. They never told me about being in Dubai. I saw Brian chuckled with my reaction and just ignore him. “Watch your mouth honey. Are you sure that your okay?” “Yes mom, and please I’m begging you… enjoy your honeymoon.” “Okay we will, I love you.” “I love you more mom.” I said and hung up. I gave back Brian’s phone. I didn’t look at him because I might throw up with his morning handsomeness and he might get paranoid about me being sick. “After you finish your meal, get ready cause we are going to the hospital.” He said and left. “Whatever.” I said when the door closed. After I finished my breakfast and took a shower, I grab some of the old clothes that I managed to save. I will show those two stupid guys that they are mocking the wrong girl. I wore my old oversized clothes, a long skirt with my brown combat boots. Ops I almost forgot my huge glasses. I look at myself in the mirror; a small smirk appeared on my face.  I went downstairs and felt the triumph when I saw Brian and Craig with disappointed faces. Good thing I took some meds before going down. They’re brightly shinning upon me. ARGH! Too handsome. “L-let’s go?” Craig said, looking at me then to Brian, whose tongue is tangled up, then back to me. “Whatever.” I said. We all went to the hospital and I’m very positive that the doctors can’t find anything wrong with me. I only have the thing that makes me vomit and dizzy when I see beautiful people, specially men, it’s the only think that I only posses… I think. We arrive at the hospital; I can see Brian and Craig being anxious. I went with the doctor and his medical team… two nurses to be particular. They had me on X-rays and more checkups that I don’t know what they are called. After a while I waited in the waiting room with Brian and Craig. Finally, the doctor arrived after forever. “She’s totally fine.” The doctor announced. I smirked at them. They look at each other. “B-but are you sure?” Brian asked and I rolled my eyes at him. “Yes, I’m very positive. There is no sign of food poisoning too, as what you guys said.” “B-but…” “Com’on guys…. Thanks doc, and sorry for the trouble.” I said interrupting Brian before he said something stupid again. While we are walking towards the car, I can’t help but release a small laugh. They both looked at me with their gorgeous pissed look. I was taken aback by that. “What?” I said, trying to look innocent. “You’re unbelievable. How did you do that?” Brian asked something stupid again. “Do what?” I said, wanting to tease him. “The thing that you did with your examinations that turned out that you’re okay?” “Ouch, aren’t you suppose to be at least happy for me that I’m fine?” I said sarcastically. “I’m kind of hurt that you actually assumed that I’m sick.” I put my hands on my chest dramatically that made Craig chuckle. “Okay, guys that’s enough, Brian let’s just leave her for now. More important now is that we know that she’s fine.” He said to Brian and looked at me. We all went back home and called our parents to tell them the results, they didn’t believe me so I have to fax the results. I got exhausted with the day’s event, even though it didn’t last for the whole day. I still feel tired using all my energy in enduring the handsomeness of those guys, who, must I say, just left for another party. Jerks!
