Chapter 21 The next morning Evan was up and gone before he had to face anyone at breakfast. The FBI agent had called him late the night before, demanding a meeting. Citing a need for secrecy, Jablonski insisted on meeting at Evan’s office. Despite wondering just why the FBI agent was working on a Sunday, Evan agreed. It was just after eight o’clock, and Evan was pouring himself a cup of coffee when the agent walked through the front door. “Hello, Evan. How’s life in the lap of luxury?” “It’s fine.” Evan said, shrugging his shoulders partly in response and partly to short-circuit the sudden spasm of tension he’d felt on seeing the agent again. Jablonski peered at him closely. “Well, don’t get too spoiled. It’s not going to last.” The agent looked around the reception area and frowned.
