Chapter 3

Meng Yu followed the original memory and reached the main hall. He can already see many people standing around. 

As soon as the people inside saw him, they showed a disgusted expression and acted like he doesn't exist. Meng Yu doesn't care about this. He looked at everyone standing there and matched them according to his memory.

Meng Feng totally had five concubines and seven children, among them only the third young, Meng Xi, miss was born out of the main wife. Second young master was born out of second concubine, but he died within a few days due to poor health. As for if there is any conspiracy in this, one does not need to ask. 

The fourth young master, Meng Qi, was born out of first concubine, who have nearly equal power as main wife in Meng family. The fifth young, Meng Yue, miss was born of fourth concubine. The sixth young master, Meng Jue and seventh young miss, Meng Xue were twins and was born out of second concubine. The original's mother had been the third concubine.

Currently every children were was present except for the third and fifth miss. As for why they were not here, it must be because they must dress up again, all thanks to Meng Yu. The twins, Meng Yue and Meng Xue were only five year old this year and they were holding the arm of a beautiful women who seems to be in her twenties. It must be the second concubine.

Then Meng Yu's eyes moved to the man standing with two women on both side. He seems to be in his thirties with a handsome look. This is none other than the original's scum father, Meng Feng. As for the two women standing with him, they are the main wife and the first concubine.

Both the main wife, Yun Xi and concubine, Bai Xiao were from a well off family. Yun Xi's maternal family were top merchants in the country. Although the status of merchants were low, but the power of Yun family is not to be looked down. Even the emperor praise Yun family from time to time.

As for Bai Xiao, she was daughter of general Bai, who holds nearly half of the country's military power in his hand. Although Bai Xiao is only a concubine born daughter, there is still a huge mountain General Bai behind her. So Meng Feng gives equal power to both of them as not to offend other. This leads to the current situation where both of them competing with each other for everything.

As Meng Yu was looking around, he suddenly felt a hateful glace on him. When he followed the source, it turned out to be Meng Feng.

"You useless thing, is this how you should dress up when going to the palace. Do you want everyone in the country to think that Meng family is not treating you well. Or do you want to anger the emperor by appearing like this in front of him so that he would punish the whole family. Where are the guards, ask them to beat this vicious villain to death."

Meng Yu blinked and looked down at himself only to find that he was wearing a shabby robe which even had three holes on it. Its not that he didn't notice, but the original owner's only decent dress is this. The other ones were far worse than this one.

Seeing that Meng feng was so angry that he was even breathing hard, concubine Bai who was standing on the right side of Meng Feng, rubbed his chest while saying "Husband, this matter can't be entirely blamed on Yu'er. From what I heard, no one had delivered any new cloths to Yu'er courtyard. I guess it must be the fault of those servant's in sister Yun's courtyard. They must have not followed sister Yun's instruction. Sister Yun, you must punish those disobedient servants after going back."

Although her words sound caring, but the true meaning in her words were mocking Madam Yun that she can't even mange her own servants.

The truth is, madam Yun didn't deliberately not send any cloths to Meng Yu. She knows how important it is to wear good cloths while visiting the emperor. Its just that she usually never sent anything to Meng Yu's courtyard so she totally forgot that she must send some cloths to him. 

But who would have known that this would give a chance for concubine Bai to mock her. She can't even refute the statement as it would mean that she deliberately didn't send any cloths to Meng Yu. If it is normal time, Meng Feng wouldn't care about this trash son, but now she knows the best is to take a step back.

Madam Yun gritted her teeth and said " Sister Bai is right, I will sell those servants as soon as I go back."

Then she looked at Meng Yu an said "Yu'er, this time mother is at fault. You follow Xiao Min, she will get you some new cloths."

Saying this, she pointed to her personal servant.

Meng Yu can only nod and follow the maid out. He was taken to the store room and the maid, Xiao Min said in an impatient tone "Please select one soon, madam would blame me if you delayed long."

Meng Yu can only sigh at the maid's 'respectful' tone. His sympathy for the original owner reached a new level. Meng Yu looked around and finally selected a light blue robe which looked neither grand nor poor.

When Meng Yu changed the cloths he was taken back to the main hall by the impatient Xiao Min. When he reached the hall, he saw the third young miss and fifth young miss who were missing before. But unlike before in Meng Yu's courtyard where they were behaved like real sisters, now they both were standing apart with Meng Xi having a sullen expression and Meng Yue standing with her eyes red as if she had just cried.

Meng Feng glanced at Meng Yu as soon as he came, then he moved away his eyes with a disgusted as if seeing him more would dirty his eyes. Then she said to everyone 

"Now that everyone are here, we will set off to the palace. The carriages are ready, I hope you all don't forget your manners while we are in palace. If anyone done anything to embarrass the Meng family, they will be punished according to the family law".

On the last sentence, Meng Feng deliberately looked at Meng Yu. After that everyone got in a carriage. When it was Meng Yu's turn, he saw that carriage allotted to him was smaller than others and inside there was not even a cushion to protect from bumps.

But the advantage was that he was all alone so Meng Yu happily got into the carriage and set off to the palace......
