Chapter 5

As soon as the emperor pressed a switch, the wall he was facing opened like a door and a man in white robe walked out from inside. As soon as the emperor saw the man, he eagerly asked.

"Master Wen, did you find which one of those children is the destined one."

The man in white robe, master Wen, shook his head and sighed "This servant is incompetent. I can't find which one among the children is the one from the prophecy."

The emperor sighed in disappointment. The day before, master Wen from astrological palace suddenly visited the palace at night saying that he have something important to discuss. After meeting him, master Wen said that there is a major change in stars and the direction is towards Mang family.

Master Wen deduced that if they grasped the chance, then it would bring a great luck to the emperor. But master Wen can only deduce that the person must be less than two decade old with Meng family blood. So the emperor invited every younger generation of the Meng family, to see if master Wen can find who that person from the prophecy might be, but its a pity that he got negative answer.

Seeing that emperor was disappointed, master Wen said 

"Your majesty, although this servant can't find who is the destined person, but this servant heard that the third young miss of the Meng family is very talented. She got a green level soul and was already in the fifth level of qi cultivation at the age of 16. So this servant can guess the most likely person to be the destined one must be her."

The emperor nodded at Master Wen's word.

"Master Wen's word are true. We were thinking about finding a princess for crown prince for a while now, the third young miss of Meng family must be a good match. But although the third miss might be the most likely person of the destiny, we will ask ask our hidden guards to keep an eye on other children too"

Master Wen bowed and head and said "His majesty is wise"

The emperor waved his hand to let master Wen leave, then called his hidden guard captain.

"Yi, you will assign some guards to monitor the Meng family children, where they go, who they meet, what they do, everything must be reported to me. Remember, at any point they must not know they are being monitored. Arrange Er and San to third young miss. Si would be arranged for fourth, Wu to fifth, Liu to sixth and seventh."

The hidden guard captain hesitated for a moment and then said 

"Your highness, should we assign someone to the first young master."

The emperor only then remembered that there is still the first son of Meng family. He also know about all the things about Meng Yu and felt that there is no possibility for him to be the destined one so he casually waved him hand and said 

"No need to waste any guards on that waste."

What they both didn't notice was that while they were talking, the leaves of the plotted plant in the corner of the room was swaying when there is clearly no wind in the room.

Meng Yu, who was dispraised by the emperor, was now leaning against window of the carriage watching chest after chest being carried into the carriages in front. What was strange was he was clearly alone, but his lips was curled up like he was watching something interesting.

In his hand he was holding a stone about the size of fist that looked crystal clear with a rainbow shade. He was playing with the stone by rolling it in his hand. As he thought, the emperor's motive of calling them into the palace was not so simple.

He don't know if he should pity or gloat for the young masters and misses, who would be monitored like a prisoners from now on without even knowing it.

Looking at the chests being carried into the carriages while no one even bothered to care about him, he decided to gloat.

Then his eyes turned towards the stone in his hand. This is something he used his power to steal from the royal treasury. He originally planned to just steal some gold, but from the plants around he heard that the most valuable thing i the treasury with high protection was this little stone. 

So he just took it along with some gold. He wonder how much he can get if he sold it. For now his top priority is to restore his appearance, so he need some herbs for it. The gold he stole should be more than enough.

Meng Yu doesn't feel any guilt for stealing from the emperor. From the original's memory, he know that this emperor was not a good person. He was lusty, selfish, greedy and only does what he want not caring about people. He can sit in this position because he was the only son of the late emperor.

Once when the original was six, the emperor visited the Meng estate. When the emperor saw Meng Yu, he scolded Meng Feng was letting the original appear before him. 

Then the original was punished by Meng Feng, not allowing to eat and drink anything for three days. Its a surprise how the original survived till now in this kind of family.

Meng Yu saw that everything was finally put into the carriages and they finally set off from the palace. The coachman was the same one from before but this time he rode the carriage very carefully not like before. Well at least someone learned their lesson....
