Mason led him through the small courtyard around the pool, all the way to the apartment smack in the middle of the bend. As Mason pushed open the door, it seemed Mason didn’t bother to lock up, Jack’s shoulders loosened up. Yes, the apartment was small, too small for his lover to move around in without bumping into something, but it was cozy. Pictures hung on the far wall on either side of the big window and a small cluster of silver-framed awards were on the wall to the left, over a desk and laptop. The bed was made with a plaid comforter in the most atrocious red and brown Jack had even laid eyes on. And it was neat. Too neat.
