SIGNED - DAVIS DECISION

641 Words
Crystal went straight home after her meeting with Davis. She felt too tired to head back to the office. Once home, she called her personal assistant, Samson, to let him know she was done for the day. Samson was left to handle the remaining tasks. After the call, Crystal went to her room and headed straight for a shower. She sank into the bathtub, her thoughts drifting back to the handsome man she'd met earlier. Davis. He was everything she desired in a man—and more. Unfortunately, their relationship was strictly business. If not for that, she would have gladly kept him to herself. "Focus on the reason for doing this," she told herself firmly and returned her attention to the warm water enveloping her. --- Davis arrived home with the contract documents in hand. He slumped onto his bed, feeling drained, though he hadn’t done anything particularly stressful. The terms and conditions of the contract loomed over him, weighing on his mind. If it weren’t for his mother’s life hanging in the balance, he would never have agreed to this. He flipped through the contract, his thoughts swirling. "What’s there to think about?" he muttered to himself. "Davis, you only need her money, right?" He answered his own question with a firm, "Yes!" One clause in particular had caught his attention: "Both parties must not develop romantic feelings for each other. Both parties will not interfere in each other's private lives. Neither party can date or be in a relationship with others until the contract is annulled or deemed invalid." Davis frowned. "This lady just wants to control me," he hissed in irritation. Still, he reminded himself, "I’m not dating anyone right now. Everything I’m doing is for Mom. If she’s okay, then I’m okay." With that resolve, he signed the contract, consenting to all its terms. A sense of relief washed over him as he set the documents aside. He would return them the next day. The thought of his mother’s treatment beginning filled him with hope. Seeing her healthy and alive again would be a dream come true. --- The next morning, Davis woke up feeling energized. He called Crystal to inform her that he’d signed the documents and would be returning them later in the evening. Crystal, busy at the moment, ended the call abruptly after hearing his message. Davis frowned in frustration. He hated this about her—always interrupting him or ending calls without notice. Meanwhile, Crystal contacted Dr. Frank, the doctor overseeing Miss Vivian’s surgery. She instructed him to begin the treatment immediately and wired the necessary funds to the account he had provided. She also ordered that Vivian be moved to the VVIP ward—a luxury reserved for the wealthiest patients. Dr. Frank, surprised by the gesture, nonetheless complied and began the treatment without delay. Crystal’s actions weren’t just business; she genuinely wanted Miss Vivian to survive. She knew the pain of losing a loved one and didn’t want Davis to endure such heartbreak. --- Later in the day, Davis prepared to visit Crystal to return the signed documents. Just as he was about to leave, his phone buzzed. Crystal was calling. "Hello?" Davis greeted as he picked up. "Davis, don’t bother coming to the company," Crystal said, ignoring his greeting. "I’ll send you my home address, and my driver will pick you up at 7:00 PM. Is that okay?" "Yes, that works," Davis replied. "Good," Crystal said and promptly ended the call. Her reason for inviting him to her home was simple—she wanted to see him. She needed a proper, meaningful conversation with him, something she wouldn’t get at the office. At work, it would all feel rushed and formal. “That was a smart move,” Crystal mused to herself, a sly smile playing on her lips.
