CHAPTER 4
DANTE'S POV Flashback ~
"Thank goodness. I was starting to think I was going to walk home in this rain." The unknown girl breathed out in relief, shutting the door with a bang. While drying herself off, not taking in her surroundings fully.
"M'am, this is not a taxi." The driver explained, causing her to look up. Her face fell into confusion until she looked over to her left.
"s**t. I'm so sorry, i didn't know this taxi was taken." She spoked in a hurry, her face going from pale to light pink.
She was embarrassed.
"M'am, I said earlier this isn't a taxi." I could feel Gregg's annoyance rise. Glaring daggers at her from the review mirror.
He never did like being called a taxi man, though it was his job to drive me and the members around.
"Well you don't have to stare at me like that, mister. I did apologise." She glared back at him.
I couldn't help but find amusement in the little thing beside me.
"What kind of asshole drives around people and doesn't expect to be called a taxi, anyway." She mumbled under her breath in annoyance. Unclicking her belt, as she hopped out of the car. Shutting the door with a bang.
"Who the f**k is she." He cursed under his breath.
"Who was that, Dante?" Enzo asked as he got into the car. While Gregg started to drive off.
"I don't know, though she was interesting." I replied with a smirk.
Enzo only rolled his eyes. Giving me a look.
He knew i was going to do research about her. I mean, why wouldn't I? There was nothing i couldn't hack, so getting to know who that little thing was, would be nothing.
"How was your meeting with the Belaire family?" I asked, but he only frowned, his brows creasing together.
I guess it didn't go as planned.
"Lets just say we didn't agree on some terms, but don't worry." Enzo smirked, pulling up his dress shirt a bit. Revealing his gun sitting on his hip.
"We figured it out." I only laughed, as he kept his smug look on him.
Flashback ended ~
I felt someone place a hand on my shoulder. Looking up I saw Gregg, giving me a cup of whisky as he sat beside me.
"You knew." I spoke out loud, not even turning to look at him.
Gregg's shoulders only slumped. Rubbing his hand over his face.
"I don't like speaking about it. About her." He replied in a defeated tone.
I looked over to him, watching as his head fell down. I clenched my jaw turning back to the scenery in front of me.
It was a garden, her garden really. She always tended to it when Enzo was out for business. I guess even she needed a distraction from this life she joined.
"She was the only light this house has had in many years. I-" He chocked out, i could hear the c***k in his voice.
"I kind of thought she'd always be here." He took a big gulp of his whisky. Turning the cup from full to now empty.
I smiled sadly at him, not knowing how to reply. I guess he caught on, cause he slapped my shoulder and let out a deep laugh.
"Hey, remember when we first met her. She called me a f*****g a taxi driver." He laughed out, trying to distract himself so the tears wouldn't fall.
I only chuckled, shaking my head at the memory.
It was so long ago, but it only felt like a couple hours ago.
