CHAPTER 1
CHAPTER 1
ENZO'S POV
She belonged only to me. She was mine.
But I ruined it, like most things in life. But for some reason ruining this, hurt more then I anticipated.
Long brown hair, with crystal like blue eyes. And her smile. Oh, how her smile could melt down any dark mood. Her laugh, that was what I craved most.
But like I said earlier, I ruined it. I thought leaving her. Distancing myself from her, would distant the danger away as well.
I was wrong.
"Today, we are here to say goodbye. Not only a daughter, and a loving sister. But a friend."
I clenched my jaw, balling my fist silently. I tried to swallow the tears that was begging to be free, but I swore to myself I wouldn't do this. I wouldn't cry.
As everyone was starting to walk out of the cemetery, I stood up walking towards my car.
I halted in my steps when I felt a frail hand pull on my forearm.
"I'm sorry, but I don't recognise you. Are you one of Alina's friends?" The old woman asked, giving me an inquisitive look.
I looked over to the grave they were getting ready to lower down to the ground. Clenching my jaw, I squinted my eyes together looking away.
"No." Was all I replied before stalking over to my car. Trying to get away from this scenery.
"f**k!" I yelled out, hitting the wheel.
I thought I could do this. But it just shows how f*****g weak I really am. I cant even say goodbye without acting like a p***y.
The ringtone from my cellphone is what snapped me out of it. As i took a deep breath before answering.
"What." I spoke dangerously low.
"Uh, boss. There's a problem at the warehouse. I know you said not to bother you today, but I think you'd wanna see this."
"I'll be there in 30. Call Dante to reschedule my meetings for this afternoon."
I heard a chuckle over the line, causing me to clench my jaw in annoyance.
"You know how Dante feels about being your errand boy, boss."
"Oh?" Was all I replied, feeling annoyed that he didn't just do as I said straight away
"Uh, I'll call him now boss. Sorry for the inconvenience." I hung up, chucking the phone over the back.
I looked out my window, watching as they lowered her box.
Funny enough, there was no body in it. But I guess its their way of grieving. Her ashes was sent to me as a gift from Mr Anderson.
My old business partner. He'll gets what's coming to him.
Though, I don't have the strength to give away her ashes, not even to her family.
I always was selfish anyway, its no real surprise to those who know me.
