After greeting each one of her staff by name, asking about their children, and spending an hour looking over the books with the manager, Trilina found Callista in the kitchen eating a beef pie.
“Your cook is incredible. Have you tasted her beef pie?”
Trilina laughed. “Yes, she’s a master and the reason the farm never loses employees. Nobody could live without her pumpes. When we get back from wherever this adventure leads us, I’ll have her whip up some. They’ll make your mouth sing.”
“Then we better kill that dragon quickly.”
