The screams from the city tell me that they know I'm coming and are scared to face the one thing that will hurt them. I'm half of them but half human, I am the outcast with the deadly talent. I take a breath and close my eyes trying to imagine what my parents would say if they saw me now. I can't think of anything so open them and carry on walking.
I'm across the road and staring at the place I thought would be the place of happiness but instead came the city of torture and torment. I lock my eyes on one spot and force myself to picture what is in that building.....
My eyes switch to something I hate so I close them, and I try to fight against the other half of me. It takes me a full 2 minutes before I control the monstrous half of me, I wouldn’t live with myself if it took over me.
I'm walking further and further into the city and it doesn't look the same from inside. The buildings have been destroyed; glass is missing, walls have been removed and the worst thing is...you can see the remains of innocent victims. The monster inside roars for their bodies but I push past waiting to see one of my targets.
It’s not long until I hear a quiet sound 5 blocks away. It stills scares me that I have some of their abilities no thanks to my father. I smoothly run to the section I've heard the noise to see what's going on. I slow down when I see a shadow coming round a corner. I bend me knees and remove my knife my waist band ready to kill who ever it is.....
What I am about to write next may be a little disturbing for some readers.....
I pounce on the figure I have seen. I am about to stab their heart until I realise I can feel the warmth of blood beneath my hand. I drop my arm and step back to get a better look at my 'almost' victim.
It’s a young boy about 8 or 9; he has brown hair with grey eyes. I can tell straight away that he has seen the horrors I have come to vanquish. I tell him to run and leave the city before anyone risks coming outside and dying. He tells me that he is the only one to survive the attack that took place during the night. I can’t help but feel bad for him so I give him an address to go to and wish him luck on his journey.
He runs off behind me and I carry on straight, looking from side to side in case I spot anymore survivors. I see none down the turnings beside me so I go to walk on when I feel something come next to me....
