Chapter 4
A week had passed and the previous uproar about Jayson and I had subsided. Unfazed and ready to become the center of attraction yet again, I prepared for my second date with him.
Putting on my black long sleeved dress that stopped a little above my knee and had a V neck that made it partially off shoulder, I straightened my hair and packed it ponytail, did my make up and applied my dim red lipstick, put on my red heels and picked my red purse. Taking a final 360 degree spin by the mirror, I took a selfie and sent it to Maeve with the caption “outfit check” before Leaving my room.
“Enjoy your evening sweetie, and you look really lovely” my mum complimented from the dining room while my dad didn't even look in my direction as I passed the sitting room.
“Thanks mum, I will” I replied before exiting the front door ignoring the painful fact that my dad holds no regard concerning me.
I arrived at the restaurant and this time he came with the GLE and Porsche panamera. The press were here again but I was ready and unfazed. Walking into the restaurant, I was greeted by the waiter and informed that he went to make an important call and would be back soon. I picked a table and sat as the whole restaurant was booked by Jayson.
Few minutes later, the waiter arrived with a glass of wine and I thanked him as he dropped it. I looked around and noticed that there were only 3 bodyguards today, he’s probably tired of showing off, I thought as I took a sip from my glass. I took out my phone as it didn't seem Jayson would be done any moment from now.
Unlocking my phone I read Maeve’s comment on the photo I sent her “hot!! With a fire emoji” and I smiled. Deciding to occupy myself till he returns, I begin to scroll through i********:.
Thirty minutes later he walked in wearing a black suit which made his black eyes shine more from the distance he came in, his well polished shoe glistening as it reflected on the tiled floor. His hair was combed to the side with the line a little away from the middle. He was breathtaking when he looked in my direction maintaining a poker expression as the sun laced the right corner of his face and once again I was grateful he is the one I am to marry.
He got to the table and sat on the empty seat opposite me. I stared at him, mesmerized once again by his beauty. I regained and cushioned myself when I realized I stared too much.
“I believe you owe me an apology Mr Peterson” I said as I decided to break the silence and he looked at me cluelessly.
“An apology for what exactly Miss Anderson?” he asked, leaning forward acting really intrigued. I stared at him for a while gauging if he was actually clueless or he was pretending in order to irk me further or his apathetic lifestyle won't let him apologize.
“You kept me waiting for 30 minutes while you made a call, Mr Peterson, don't you think I deserve an apology?” I asked when I decided to believe he was clueless.
“Well, you kept me waiting for 10 minutes before you arrived on our first date. Did you apologize for that?” He asked back, leaning back to his seat and signaling the waiter to come. I stared at him in disbelief, is he this petty? or he just wants to be annoying. Whatever he was trying to do I decided to ignore him and just endure till the day was over.
The waiter approached the table and requested our orders.
“I'll get a glass of wine” Jayson requested and the waiter turned to me.
“I'll get an orange juice, thank you” I said and the waiter left to get our orders.
Few minutes later the waiter returned with our different glasses and poured our drinks for us.
“Don't you get tired of going on dates like these?” I asked Jayson.
“I hate dates generally,” he replied dryly as he took a sip from his glass.
“How about we try a different approach to our date, other than just sitting in a restaurant and boring each other we could do something else” I suggested as I was already bored of sitting in an empty restaurant doing nothing order than condoning his attitude.
“I love the solitude, but I'll consider the suggestion” he replied stoically downing the rest of his glass.
We were both done with our drinks and were ready to leave. Taking Jayson's hand we walked to the door and yet again the flashes began as the press didn't want to miss a moment.
He walked me to my car and when I was about to get in he pulled me to his chest as though he wanted to give me a hug and placed his left hand on my waist then whispered “I'm quite disappointed you didn't order any food today, I should probably order for you on our next date. I don't want my future wife looking malnourished on our wedding day " he placed a peck on my cheeks then walked away to his car. I stood there too astonished to move as I watched his car drive out of the parking lot.
