It was 4 in the afternoon, Katrina was reading her bible on her bed like she usually does on Sundays and found some controversial text, she looked it up online and also found other controversial text in the bible, she then asked her mom to explain what it meant
Katrina: mummy can you explain some things in the bible [standing with her bible, with highlighted bible text]
Mum: like what honey[ Katrina opening to one of the highlighted text
Katrina: it says women are meant to keep quiet in church, was that mean [ Temitope grabbed her bible and looked at the text]
Mum: it means to the people of that church and at that time
Katrina : so why is it in the bible
Mum: we dont know why but god has a reason for doing [ she looked at the order highlighted verses, she was lost for words]
Katrina: can you explained the other highlighted verses
Mum: sorry I cant all I know is god has a reason why[never read the bible only knows popular stories and verses]
Katrina: ok mum [ she took her bible back and went back to her room ]
Both Katrina and Temitope began to question their religion and their faith in god began to wither slowly
Monday morning, 8:20
Katrina was nervous for her first day in school, she had already made two friends before school started, she entered the school, it was just like she saw on tv lockers on the hallways, classmates running up and down, but what caught her notice was her friend Ashley
Ashley why are you crying
Ashley: my mom called me a disgrace to her family[Katrina gives tissue to her}
Me: why
Ashley: because I embarrassed her in front of her friends in the mall
Me: she didn't have to say that to you
Ashley: my parents say it to me all the time because my older sister try to protect from rapists while protecting me she got r***d and died from it
Me : oh sorry if you need any help you can call me ok
Ashley : thanks for being my friend
6 hours later, she was done with her classes, she talked with her friends, exchange numbers and home addresses, then walked back to her house, after opening the door she heard screams and shouts
Mom: [ angrily] we are leaving this house
Me: [worried]why
Mom: because your father cheated on me and got someone else pregnant
Me: [shouting] today was my first day of school and I liked it why do we have to move [crying]
My mum : don't cry sweetie me
she called her friends once she stopped crying, both Ashley and riley comforted her, they promised each other they will all be the same college and we video call every Saturday night
