Breakfast.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Ugh... I’m so tired.
What time is it? I asked myself as I hit the off button of my Mickey Mouse alarm clock. I struggle to peel my eyes open to check what time it is. 7 o’clock.
Time to start my day. My day is like every other day. I wake up earlier than the rest of my family and that’s because I cook breakfast for my two cousins, aunt and my uncle.
I walk into my bathroom and stare at myself in the mirror. My name is Catherine Summers, I’m a 18 year old high school student. This is my last year in high school, I have two more months left until I graduate. I’m super excited because I have plans on leaving this town and moving to the Big Apple, New York. I just want to leave and live a life where no one knows me.
In this town, Leslieville, everyone knows me as the beta’s outcast niece. Yup, that’s right my Uncle Tom is the packs Beta, second in command to Alpha Jackson. Our pack here is not very large. We have maybe 200 wolves, we also live among humans. Our pack is The Golden Moon Pack. Very well known for our waterfalls.
I try to hurry up in the bathroom as I know my family will wake up soon and will be expecting breakfast. I take a quick shower and dry myself. I stand in front of the mirror again with my towel wrapped around my body and stare at myself. One thing I did admire about myself was my unique eye colour, violet. No one I ever came across had eyes like mine. One more thing to add as an outcast.
I walk to my small closet and grab a pair of black leggings and a white fitted t-shirt. My hair is still a bit wet from my shower, no time to style it so I just quickly comb it.
Heading downstairs I walk straight to the kitchen. Opening the cabinets and fridge I grab the ingredients to make pancakes, eggs and sausages.
As soon as I am done the rest of my family comes down and sits on the kitchen table waiting to be served.
I cooked and I still have to serve them like a maid. I think to myself.
“Hurry up Cat! I need to eat my breakfast!” says my cousin Stacey. Stacey is the same age like me. We also attend the same high school, Leslie High School. We have such opposite looks. She’s 5 feet 10 inches tall with long volley ball legs and long brown hair. Me, I’m 5 feet 6 inches tall with white hair. Another feature to add to the outcast list.
“ calm down dear, yelling is not lady like.” says my aunt Stella.
“ yeah stop yelling, my poor ear drums” my cousin Jake adds while he looks in my direction and gives me a small smile.
I quickly place everyone’s breakfast in front of them and head into the living room to grab my school bag.
“I’m off to school!” I say as I opened the front door.
