Vanessa woke up to the smell of coffee and an empty spot next to her. Keeping her eyes closed, she yawned and lazily stretched under the warm duvet, enjoying all the space of the king size bed she had to herself. She loved sleeping next to Raffaele, of course, but she was not used to being restricted in her movements at night.
She opened one eye when she heard steps coming towards her.
“Good morning, farfallina,” Raffaele smiled as he put a cup on her nightstand, and she could feel the bed dip on the side where he sat down. She closed her eye again when he was leaning towards her and contently purred when she felt his beard softly scratching against her cheek before he planted a kiss on her lips.
“It’s time to get up, sleepyhead,” he whispered in her ear, but she wouldn’t mind staying
