Chapter 13: LAURA

Nathan POV

I knew Laura's attitude will bring up some trouble between April and I, reason why I did not even wanted to speak at the grocery store, I felt April somehow like a volcano waiting to explode.

Although she stood up for us, It was certain she did not like Laura's answer.

As we arrived her home and got in, she did not even wait for me to sit on her living room couch, instead she instantly gave me a direct look and ask me "what was happening between Laura and I".

I tried to brush it off with a small joke about that she was my sister, so she are crazy just like me.

But April did not buy it.  Instead she kept silent awaiting for me to continue with another version, I thought.

I knew she would not buy any nonsense I was thinking to tell her, so I decided to say the truth, until we're I knew about.

I walked behind April to  the kitchen to help her get some cups and other plates where we will lay the snacks on, meanwhile I explained my relationship with Laura.

At least what I understood about it, since until last night I thought we were on the same track and then she  got on top of me and kiss me the way she did.

I was really thinking if I should tell April that part of the story.  But decided not to.

When I told her we were more best friends than siblings, she right away changed the gesture on her face.

- Don't you know Laura is in love with you; she told me with some disgust.

I insisted that we were step-siblings but she had already drawn her conclusions.

She also told me to fix or explain things to Laura, for us to avoid any future misunderstanding.

I promised her I would and we tried to have a nice time in what was left of the evening.

We saw two movies, kiss in between them since we couldn't resist to be so close without tasting each others lips.  We also had some caressing sessions.

When we was finishing the last movie, April parents came back.

They sat with us for a while, asking about the movie, sharing their day out and asking us how was ours, then they said goodnight and went to their room.

I felt it was time for me to leave as well, since I had all day in April's house, and although she did not want me to leave, I could feel she was tired.

But I promised her I will come to get her to take a walk on the beach tomorrow, since it was sunday.

Once outside after giving her a nice long goodnight kiss, Sigma was nagging to go out on run, but I told him we could not run tonight, since I had packages on me, I needed to take to the store which included a sample part from April's Dad car.

So I took a cab back home.

As I entered the house;  I could hear the usual sound of everybody talking at once and as they saw me, everyone greeted me and ask me where I was all day.

Laura from the kitchen did not even let me answer when she shouted - With his Girlfriend; making everybody start whistling and shouting things that made me feel blush, since I have always like to keep my life secret, without people asking questions and Laura knew that.

I looked at her and ask her to go down with me to my room, since I needed to speak with her.

She made a disgusting  gesture as if she was going to be scolded and followed me downstairs.

As we finish the stairs I told her I wasn't happy with her attitude today at the grocery store. 

But she kept walking towards me, when she was close enough I could smell the booze she was drinking in her breath and I knew immediately, that it was a wrong idea to try to speak to her now.

She was looking so dangerously on my lips, meanwhile she were biting hers.

As she could she snaked her arms around my waist, to be able to pull herself closer to me, without I stepping back as I did until now.

We were close to my bed, so I made a fast turn, got away from her arms and sat her down on the bed.

- Laura please listen to what I have to say.

- What's wrong Nate, don't you want to find out if you feel the same way, that I do?

-  I know I don't, I said determine to put an end on this craziness she made up in her head.

She tried to get up and I sat her back down again, but this time as I had to use more force, she fell laying down on my bed.

And also took advantage to pull me on top of her.

When I fell she wrap her arms swiftly around my neck and right away kissed my lips.

I struggled to lose myself and get up from on top of her, but did not want to hurt her since she was using  such a force to keep me there and I knew I could hurt her if I used my wolf force.

- Please Laura, we need to talk; I told her close to her mouth.

-  Why talk when we could do other interesting things, Nate, you don't think I deserve you to give me an opportunity to show you how things could be between us.

I could see that although she was tipsy from the drinks she had earlier, she meant what she said and also could see tears were rushing to her eyes.

I sat down and help her to do the same, putting my arm around her shoulders.

- Laura, you are my step-sister! I love you! but not the way you feel you love me now.

- We don't share the same blood Nate, you knew I always felt something special for you, even when you started running around with those different girls, that never did value you.   -You think April is different from the others? You think she will ever love you, like I do?

- I love her, Laura, she is different, I feel different when I am around her, Even the headaches are less, since she is part of my life.

- Nate, I love you and as you once needed me, I need you now, what do you want me to do? I need you!

That was a though one Laura through at me, since it took me back on days I felt my life was worthless and that I would be better off dead, out of this world, but Laura always stood there with me, although I did not want to go out like other teenagers and be with other people, she stayed home with me and always cheered me up with games, movies and her occurrences.

I hug her closer to me, since she really meant a lot to me, I was just getting to know April, even though Sygma said she is our mate, what if she one day decided not to be with me?

- Nate! Nate! what's wrong? didnt you listened to me? can we cuddle like we used to before?

- Yes Lau... I am here.

We took off our shoes and lay together in my bed, she turned her back and cuddled close to me and I hugged her, as we done in many other occasions, sometimes because of me and others because she wanted to.

We fell asleep.
