leo should have just shot his shot from the very beginning. But now the puzzel pieces are for Matilda to find and put together.

Lets go back to 2018.The year we as South Africans finally silenced ears to our former President(Jacob Zuma); opened up to Cyril Ramaphosa. Raised our fists and bowed our heads to the death of our mother mamuWinnie Madikezela Mandle as well as to many other legends. I witness the love at first sigh of Thembalethu Leo Makini (15; grade8. 2018) far from home welcomed to a new world and Hlogonolofatso Matilda Madita (15; grade9.2018) already has mastered every corner of Winterpark Grové High school. Where all the kids are classified as "Leeu van grové".They all felt big unprovoked; were popular just for being part of the Grové familie. A story of two individuals collide at low key. Nobody else seemed to care or even noticed , but it was and it had a soul. Their meeting was out of bound. Abnormality was the main subject and love was an imposter , existed yet extinct. Not a little thing made any sense as they both tried to find a way around only to end up in the darkest room of all time(roat). Life was no longer a smile.. (Bell rings ; calling out to announce break time triii triii) Pupils separted from one class to another from there to the park like gas particles finding their way in air .Through the door leading to Grové park ,the focal point is a whole group of boys reminding themselves of the up coming seasons of the well praised game of rugby. From one corner to another they force their mouths to open up just to say sawubonanii "ubuntu quickly remembered". Matilda with her gang make their way to they otherside no threats invloved , settle on one of the wooden bench desks provided for breaktimes. Split moment she gets up to stand on one side of the bench suddenly a boy commanding her to move she gazed for a while but that gaze turned into a glance. Half passed one everybody heads home , minds filled with more than a million words and loads of boring homework. Matlida gets home , settles , does the usual and finally gets a hold of her phone. Massages from the regulars come through (beep) a message from a new number. She starts to wonder who it might be but that doesn't bother her that much so she replies back immediately the anonymous number replies back right after Matlida did. "Who this (smiling emoji) ?" Matilda asks. "Its Neil" anonymous replies Matilda was a bit shocked but it was okay with her. So they chatted but as the convo goes this person reveals the truth : "its Leo the Indian guy." (Calls himself that because of the dark dot on his face so where below his eyebrow.) The bench memory flashes by like an image on the wall. I can't remember everything they said to each other but his last words were : "There is something I want to tell you but its still to early to say it now." ******* Monday morning nothing has changed school is still normal everyone is still around to learn or rather feed from the tree of education. Matilda couldn't stop thinking of the Leo's words.As she wonders in her thoughts ; Leo passes by silently not even a single word was said. This is when Matlida's life changed in a unclassified manner. She didn't pay attention to it until it became her reality. The silence was kept yet over the phone it was a differnt story. Over the first hoilday of that year (2018) Leo chanced her by asking for airtime more than a million times and that was probably the only time he texted. (Matilda decides to make the move over the phone) "Leo can I tell you something ?" Dear Matilda asks "Yes of course you may !" Leo replies. "I love you." Matilda replies back. "I know , I see the way you look at me all the time." Leo. This went on for a while until they both felt like its settled . Holiday ends ; back to school again. Matilda wonders inside her head : "How am I going to face him after everything I said ? ." Nothing changed, all that happened was leo kept on asking for lollipops and she did exactly that , she at least felt at ease every moment he asked for that one favour every now and then. Though poor Matilda felt the need to talk but everytime she tried the timing wasn't right. So she kept her mouth sealed for her own safety. This went on to the following academic year(2019) it grew to be a bit straining from time to time.
