"What nonsense are you saying, Kelly? Divorce? Ha! Like you can even manage on your own." Justin said, though he was so shocked. He feared Kelly might have meant it. "You wouldn't even last without me."
"We'll see about that." Kelly said.
Justin gritted his teeth, struggling to believe what was happening. "Kelly, you are just upset and aren't thinking straight." He said, trying to be reasonable with her.
Tears had filled Kelly's eyes. "You had a w***e who was pregnant for you?" She spat out. Justin's eyes widened. "You had someone out there who carried your child while you kept your wife here, alone all the time. Was I not really worth it, Justin?"
Her voice broke. "I gave you everything! And yet, this is what I deserve? You shameless son of a b***h!--"
Justin couldn't take it any more. He leaned forward to Kelly and firm hands gripped her jaw tight, lifting her head to face him.
"--Fine! Let's get divorced then! But I promise you, you'll regret this. And when you come crawling back, I won't listen to you."
Kelly kicked him in the groins to run away from his grip, and he moaned in pain but she didn't care. "I regret the day I met you, Justin. I should have just stayed at home and remained in bed instead of going to that stupid party!"
Justin brought out his wallet and counted a few bucks. "Here, use this one to sleep at a hotel or something. I'll forward the alimony to your account, maybe 200 thousand grand? That should do." He said. He was mocking her because he knew she could not be serious. She wouldn't last one week without his influence in her life.
"I don't need your filthy money." Kelly said with rage in her eyes. This man was a monster and she would not die in his hands! She needed a fresh start. Anything to get her away from those low lives Gray family!
"Whatever, moron." Justin said, half smiling to himself. If Kelly would not even take alimony, then it only meant she was pulling his legs. Because how else was she going to survive without him? "Let's get back to this later. Firstly, I need to go find Lisa. Arrange some of your clothes and meet me downstairs." He commanded and walked out.
Kelly bursted out in painful tears. Those would be her last over Justin, she vowed.
She packed the few of her belongings hastily and left the house vowing to never return again.
Meghan called all the maids after a couple of hours not seeing Kelly. Justin had gone out again with Lisa, claiming he went shopping for her because she didn't have any clothes...the rest was a blur to her.
"Ma'am, she um, she left." Said the maid.
Meghan frowned? "Left? To where again? This foolish girl and her disappearing! Well, the guests have already left so tell her to come see me now."
"What is it, mother?" Taylor came out to see her mother screaming.
"That brat Kelly has disappeared again. Can you believe it?" Meghan said."I have my fiftieth party coming up soon and I need her to help with the maids for the preparation. Tell her that. At least she must be over at my house one week before the party." Meghan commanded.
Just then, Justin walked in. That lady was not by his side now.
"Oh great. Look at the time you're just coming? After the party is over!" Meghan snapped.
"Where is Kelly?" Was the first thing he asked.
"They said she's gone out. Out to where? How did she slip out without me noticing?" Meghan said to herself.
"Out?" Justin said. The truth was that he was afraid that she would actually leave him so he ran upstairs to confirm. No one was in the room. On the bed was a paper file he usually kept by the bedside just as a threat for Kelly to behave well. She couldn't be serious, right?
Kelly took the bus straight back home to her parents. Seeing her, they nearly couldn't believe their eyes. She had not called anyone that she would be coming home.
Tears welled in her eyes. She dropped her suitcase down and ran to her mother's warmth. "I'm sorry, mom. I can't do it again." She said, her whole body shivering as she recalled the trauma she'd gone through in the Gray household. "I don't mean to disappoint you, but I can't anymore."
"It's alright, my love. You're safe here." Her mother said calmly to her.
After she had settled in, she realized Justin had left a million text messages.
'Where are you?.
'You better come home now, and maybe I'll spare you.'
'Why won't you come home?'
Finally, Kelly replied to his messages. 'Let's finalize the divorce next week,' was all she texted.
Another message popped in from Justin. ' Fine, but what about alimony? How will you survive? You're making a big mistake!'
She only read and ignored the messages.
Meanwhile as Justin replied to her message, he was more than furious! His mother and sister were still with him, and he wondered when they would leave.
"Mom," he said at last to them. It was late so he figured out they might decide to sleep at his place. And they needed to hear the latest news. "Kelly and I are divorced. She threw the divorce papers at my face and now, she has gone back to her parents."
"What?" Meghan raged out. "How dare that brat! That poor thing we took in to feed, how dare she embarrass my son? If anyone asks, you chased her out of your house, okay?" She quickly added.
Justin nodded. Deep down, he couldn't believe that was the end. It happened too fast. Taylor muttered something but he didn't hear.
"And how much did she demand for alimony? Don't offer her more than 1% of your wealth." Meghan said.
"That's the thing, mom. She demanded nothing. She just left." Justin regrettably announced.
Meghan frowned, then a sinister grin was playing on her lips now. "That fool and her pride? Poor people shouldn't have pride at all! I'll make her pay for disrespecting us. Let's see where she'll find a company to hire her. She will come back to us and beg for mercy!"
Justin knew his mother's capability. She would punish Kelly just as she'd said. Somehow, he started to feel bad for her already.
