"Are you listening to me?" Quinn exclaims, I nod my head as she carries on her lecture.
"He's called a beast for a reason, he walks with no remorse, anyone he hurts- he doesn't give a damn about them, he's known for violence yet everyone seems to idolise him."
Hunter seemed like a casual popular boy who loved to cause people stress, but instead, he was the Bad boy that everyone's afraid of and scared to even talk to.
"I understand Quinn, is there anything else you'd like to tell me about this boy?" I say annoyed, I didn't want to hear more about this guy, everything about him made me want to punch him once more.
The way he treated that girl Stacey was wrong, I hate people who play others- I despise players, everything about them was dumb and childish.
"There's a lot but I'm afraid I'm not allowed to tell you the rest," Quinn mumbles, I look at her confused.
"What do you mean?" I question her, leaning on a locker behind me.
"You can't know, if you know- everything will go wrong," she says abruptly.
"What?" Quinn was starting to baffle me more.
"Just stay away from Hunter, we Roses don't mix with Greys," she says in an eerie voice.
We Roses don't mix with Greys. What is she trying to say? There's something wrong with the paraphrasing of this sentence.
Hunters last name is Grey and my last name is Rose, so is Quinn's. Is it some family conflict?
"Alright," I respond to her after a whole minute of trying to figure out the meaning behind what she said.
"Now let's go to the cafeteria, you must be hungry after fighting with the beast." Quinn tries to say normally, I scoff as I follow her into the cafeteria.
I noticed that people were in different groups, oh high school and the different types of social class groups. It's funny really, but it's better if people are in different groups rather than one big group.
Quinn walks over to a table with three guys and one girl, they were all having a deep conversation until Quinn and I walked towards them.
"Quinn! This is the cousin you told us about?" A guy with brunette hair and blue eyes says in shock.
"I was expecting an ugly looking cousin that nobody likes." Another guy with blonde hair exclaims.
"Excuse me." I say offended, the guy with the blonde hair sure was cute.
"That's Derek." Quinn points at the guy with brunette hair and blue eyes. "The i***t there is Mason." she points at the blondie.
"This one is Isaac." she points to the guy who was texting away in his phone, he looks up and I nearly faint. The guy was gorgeous, with a structured jaw and undeniably attractive brown hair which was cascading his grey eyes.
"And lastly that's Cassidy." she points at a girl scrolling through a book on her phone. I gasp as I notice the app, it was w*****d. Isn't that where all the fanfics about Harry Styles are?
I take a seat next to Isaac and I'm suddenly hit with a beautiful cologne. He looks good and smells good? Package deal.
"So what brings you to LA?" Cassidy questions as I look at her, she was pretty- she had bangs and cute eyebrows.
"I wanted change." I state, not wanting to expand on my response.
"Change as in Money? I think I have a few spare quarters inside my pocket." Derek starts to check his pockets.
"Derek, the door." Mason points towards the exit.
"But, she wanted change..." Derek mumbles.
"I meant a change in lifestyle, not money Derek." I say politely.
"Oh," Derek mutters incoherently.
I look towards the Cafeteria doors, Hunter and his friend walk through the double doors as people stare at them. I don't understand why most of the attention is on them- there's clearly someone as good looking as them sitting right next to me.
"Staring is a bad habit." I hear a raspy voice, I slightly shiver before turning to face Isaac.
"Telling someone to stop staring is a bad habit." I point out as he shook his head.
"It's a shame, most girls end up liking those guys- seems like you're just another," Isaac tells me as I scowled.
"Do girls who like those guys slap one of their faces?" I look at him, I noticed a ghost of a smile.
"Which one did one of those girls slap?" he enquires.
"Hunter Grey." I respond, Isaac bites his lip before whispering something into Mason's ear.
Everyone on the table stares at me gravely, it was as if I did something wrong.
"Forget him, ignore him and don't even talk to him or girl I'll kill you- Hunter Grey and his best friend Kayden Blue are dangerous," Cassidy says with a straight face.
"If you even have a single conversation with one of them, they'll end up destroying your life, they're a threat- especially to you. A Rose." Mason says.
"I'm sorry Isabelle you should've at least told me before you slapped the beasts face." Quinn told me as I frowned. What is it with them and their problem with Hunter Grey?
"I don't understand, what is this conflict between the Greys and Roses?" I look at them, they don't say a word until Derek speaks up.
"It's not the time to tell you, when things start adding up- only then you'll find out the real reason."
"Why can't I know now!" I exclaim, a bit too loud for my liking. The people in the cafeteria stare at me in silence, don't they have anything better to do than stare at me getting annoyed.
Hunter and his best friend Kayden look at me, Hunter sends me a heated glare as Kayden keeps a straight face.
"Not too loud, the people in here will listen and end up telling the beast what we told you." Quinn snaps, the people in the cafeteria had returned to what they were doing by now.
"Tell me the truth, what in the hell is going on?" I say frustrated, they all look at one and another- as if they were trying to secretly communicate.
"Let's have some fun shall we?" Isaac says suddenly.
Everyone looks at him perplexed.
"We'll give you 5 clues and you have only one guess to tell us what you think is going on- and if you're correct we will tell you the whole truth." Isaac finishes his statement with a smug look.
"And if you fail to guess the right answer the first time, I'm afraid you'll have to wait patiently to find out the truth," Quinn says, so this is how it feels. Your own blood not even telling you the truth.
"Your first clue is city lake, you'll find the beast and Kayden there: eavesdrop on their conversation and you'll get a slight view on what the conflict between the Greys and Roses are," Issac told me as I nodded my head.
"Try not to get caught," Quinn advises.
This is all one big riddle, it seems interesting yet so dangerous.
As they say, this is a tale as old as time.
