Chapter Sixteen

S I X T E E N
"Where do I start?" Robin mutters as he leans on the wall behind him. Is there that much to say?
"Robin, Isabelle." I hear a voice, I notice Fraser leaning on the door of the warehouse with a frown. Damn it, what is he doing here? I am this close to finding out the whole truth.
"Come back inside." Robin purses his lips before looking at me, I shook my head. Fraser wasn't budging either. Damn it.
"Fraser we'll be back, just give us two minutes." I tell him, Fraser frowns as he shook his head. "No." he says firmly.
"Dude we need to talk." Robin says annoyed, he wasn't taking Frasers words either. Fraser rolls his eyes before looking at me.
"Fine, two minutes- I'm counting." Fraser brings his two fingers from his eyes to Robin and I as if he was warning us. "One, two--" Fraser says loudly as he walks back inside the warehouse.
"I don't know where to start." Robin whispers, he was contemplating whether to tell me or not. Isaac had told me that if he had revealed who X was he would risk his life, so wouldn't Robin risk his life by telling me the truth?
I mean my cousin Valerie died by finding out the fourth clue by somebody else, wouldn't the same happen for me- would it be worse for me? Since Robin is giving me the whole truth.
"Wait, Robin." I say as Robin looks at me confused- his eyebrows furrowed.
"What? We clearly don't have time--" Robin got interrupted by Fraser.
"Forty-eight, Forty-nine--" He counts loudly, Robin clenches his jaw. Fraser really wanted us to come inside so badly. It was as if he was a child.
"Tell me the fourth and fifth clue." I say randomly, Robin shook his head. "It would be much better if you knew the truth." He states bluntly. I might as well find out what the hell is going on.
"There's three parts of the truth, Hunter Grey, Isaac Indigo and," Robin pauses, as if he didn't want to say more. But he then finally speaks, "Mine." he whispers in a soft voice.
"You're a part of this?" I look at him wide eyed, he nods his head stiffly. I didn't know what to say.
"Hunter, Kayden, Isaac, Cassiel, Fraser and I were all one group of friends that everyone loved, even though we were from rival schools- it was one great friendship, since we all knew each other since we were kids." Robin starts off.
"We were all on spring break last year, that was where it started- over one text message from X." Robin says, just over one text message?
"We thought it was just one joke, the message stated: kill all the Roses or I'll kill your family." Robin chuckled humourlessly,
"We thought it was someone from school because we all got the text straight after the day school closed for the holiday."
"So none of you guys took it seriously?" I look at Robin, he shook his head. "Hunter took it seriously, he despised all Roses- all because of the feud between his family and your family." Robin sighs.
"Eight-nine, ninety--" I heard Fraser count louder, he honestly can just use the timer on his phone.
"So he went on without our permission, he went to meet X."
What? But I thought Hunter didn't know X? "And X had told him that he would spare Hunter's family and give him something in exchange if he'd kill five Roses." Robin shook his head.
"And Hunter, he agreed."
"Wait, are you telling me- Hunter killed five of my relatives?" I ask him astounded.
"He did, he killed each of them heartlessly without thinking- can you think of a freaking sixteen year old even doing s**t like that?" Robin looks at me, my breath hitches, no I couldn't believe it.
"After he had done that, he regretted it almost immediately and do you know what he did- he blamed it all on X." Robin runs his hand through his silky brown hair.
"The next thing you know, X creates this game- for all Roses who enter this town, he made five clues- having each clue lead back to the death of each Rose Hunter shamelessly killed." He tells me before pausing.
"Valerie had joined this town, everyone fell in love with her almost immediately- then she was introduced to this game by Quinn- a former Rose." Robin eyes darken as he says Valerie's name.
"Valerie decided to give the game a try since she was dying of curiosity, as she discovered each clue she was slowly walking towards the truth but everything was spoilt once she was about to figure out the fourth clue." Robin clears his throat before looking back at the warehouse.
"She was meant to break Cassiel in order to find out the fourth clue, instead she fell for him hopelessly- there was one person who didn't like this at all." Robin frowns.
"It was Isaac, my former friend." My jaw drops, Isaac?
"He loved Valerie Rose, he was so in love that he was willing to reveal to her the fourth clue so that she didn't have to stay with Cassiel much longer." Robin clenches his jaw as he says Isaac name.
"That lead Valerie to her death, Isaac revealing the fourth clue. That also lead Cassiel to break, he was so in love with Valerie that her death shattered him." Robin suddenly gets interjected by someone.
"Times up." Fraser says as he gestured us to get inside. I sigh as I give Robin a side glance.
"You go ahead, we're right behind you." I say as Fraser gives me an odd look before walking ahead.
"That is also the reason why Quinn attacked Isaac, it was because he revealed the clue to Valerie and he who reveals the truth suffers according to X." Robin mutters.
"How do you know this?" I ask him.
"X messages me still." Robin mumbles, there's other people X messages?
"That's Isaac's part of the truth?" I ask Robin, he doesn't say anything.
"There's much more to Isaacs story even Hunters."
What else was there to know?
"Isaac has done a lot," Robin says quietly, "He's done so much that he could overthrow Hunter's actions." What could Isaac have done that could be worse than Hunter killing 5 people?
"What about you?" I mumble, Robin stops walking as he turns to face me.
"What about me? There's a lot about me, my existence alone is a threat for X." He states, "Everything about me threatens X, I can destroy him."
"Why don't you?" I question.
"It's hard. It's hard destroying your own brother." Robin mutters quietly.
