Pack Meeting
It was another meeting, long and boring. The off white walls, the hard uncomfortable chairs, and the irritable frustrated members. I am here because I am the Alpha, of The Red Moon Pack. A position I was born into. Trained to protect my members, my family, and my community in general.
Five years have passed since I have taken my position as the Alpha. Five years since my father handed me the responsibility to take over a 10,000 person community. A position, that I take a lot of pride in. A pack I would risk my life for.
Listening to the members speak about the recent attacks of a twenty member rogue group that we just won. A small attack, but an attack none the less. How can we prevent another attack? Why did they attack? Who are they working for? All topics being addressed and should be discussed.
But all I could think about if this would be the day, the week, the month or even the year I would find my mate. I am a 23 year old and a mateless Alpha. Although I have held my mate in my arms, felt her skin against my skin. She isn't ready to become Luna of my pack. She is not ready to come forth and stand in front of thousands of people and be the center of attention.
Do I blame her? No I don't. Her life would be in danger. My enemies would use her life to torture me and put my pack at risk. So for now, everyone thinks I am a mateless Alpha. A playboy who doesn't seem interested in settling down. In reality it is the complete opposite, a young man in love with a she wolf he doesn't even know the name of.
"Jason, what do you think of increasing the border patrol team to 4 people instead of 2 for all the 6 hr rotation shifts?"
Charles my beta asks. As I look up and agree, I decide to end this 2 hour meeting.
Leaving the community office on the second floor of the pack house, I find my way downstairs to the kitchen.
