Ann-Marie dropped down next to him at the campus center, nearly squashing him in the wood-framed chair. Beau put one hand over his Pepsi so it didn’t dump all over his lap. She completely ignored Chaz, who sat on the floor in front of the chair, one hand linked around Beau’s ankle, nose stuck in a book. “Fun with mid-terms?” she said. She plucked the notebook out of Beau’s grasp and threw it onto the floor behind her, scattering his notes. “Thanks, Ann-Marie,” Beau said. “Was there something you wanted, or are you just here to annoy the ever-loving f**k out of me?” “I’ll take annoying you for $400, Alex,” she chirped. “You’re revoltingly cheerful,” Chaz said.
