Taylor's Darkness

A New Nightmare

Taylor locked the door after Dr. Trey left her room. Her breathing was erratic from how Dr. Trey was speaking to her. She did wonder what Mr. Robert had on Dr. Trey. Taylor cleaned up her dishes and decided to take her bag into the bathroom again to look through the pockets. Taylor hung up her tank top and jeans. She set the boots on the floor next to her other shoes. She unzipped the pocket inside the bag and felt around. There was nothing in it. With a sigh, Taylor started checking other pockets until she found something. It was a brand new phone. There was a note that said it was already programmed and untraceable. The only ones who could trace it was her parents and Margaret. Taylor smiled and checked the phone out. The phone lit up as it powered on. When the screen came up the wallpaper was a picture of her mom, dad, and Margaret. Taylor felt a tear roll down her cheek. Taylor opened the messages and saw that Margaret had sent her a message after they were forced to leave.

Margaret sent, “hey Taylor! I’m so glad I got to see you today. I wish we could have brought you with us. Zag seems very nice and he’s hunky.” Taylor laughed and replied, “hey Margaret, I’m so glad I got to see you guys today too. He is hunky isn’t he?!” Taylor waited for a few minutes then continued to search through her bag. The side pocket had something in it as well. She reached in and pulled out keys. To say that Taylor was confused was an understatement. They were car keys and some other keys. She assumed they were house keys. She felt the phone vibrate and picked it up to check it. She smiled when she saw Margaret send her another text. “I have told your mom and dad that we just need to sneak you out. They said it wouldn’t be good to do, because Dr. Trey is unstable and unpredictable. Please, hide this phone and don’t let him get ahold of your phone.” Taylor read the text sent my Margaret and sighed. “I know, don’t worry. My mom and dad are right, he is unpredictable and unstable. I will message you soon Margaret. Thank you for being there for my mom and dad. I know this is difficult for all of us.” Taylor sent to Margaret then turned the phone off. She hid the phone back into her bag and zipped up the secret pocket.

Taylor folded her book bag and put it with another one she had hanging up. Taylor put her leather jacket on a hook by the bags. She changed clothes and crawled into bed. Chloe meowed and jumped up on the bed with Taylor. She curled up next to Taylor and soon they were both asleep. Taylor opened her eyes to see a dark dreary place. It was freezing cold and she felt hopeless. She walked around trying to see anything other than darkness. “Where am I?” Taylor asked out loud looking for any sign of light. Taylor continued to walk trying to find some clue of where she was. Taylor continued to feel hopeless. “ZAG!” Taylor yelled trying to find someone or something. There was nothing, no noise, no light, no sign of life. It was just emptiness all around her. Taylor walked for what seemed like for hours. Taylor stopped walking and sat down. She pulled her legs to her chest and breathed in. Suddenly there was a noise that sounded like running water. Taylor followed the noise in the dark. “Blue, where are we? I feel so hopeless.” Taylor asked her wolf. “I’m not sure where we are Taylor. Let’s find where the sound is coming from.” Blue said to Taylor.

Taylor kept walking in the direction of the running water. The sound was getting louder as she continued to walk. *Snap* Taylor heard what sounded like a twig snapping. She listened closely, wanting to hear what made that noise. She then heard a couple more snaps. Taylor began running towards where the sound of the running water was coming from. Her heart pounded as she ran. There was another snap to her left and she ran even faster. Her adrenaline ran high as she kept pushing herself to make it to the water. Taylor’s eyes widened as she felt her body dip down into what felt like water. She stayed in the water and could hear low growls. She wasn’t sure if she was actually hearing the sounds or if her mind was playing tricks on her. Taylor was trying to remain strong, even though the darkness and not being able to see was almost driving her mad. Taylor saw something out of the corner of her eye. She turned her head to the right and it looked like there was light in the horizon. Squinting, she looked and thought maybe it was a sunrise. She began to feel hope, even if for a moment. However, that feeling went away as soon as the light rose and lit up the land. She realized that she was not in a river of water, but in a river of blood.

Taylor looked around and saw the beasts that were waiting for her to get out of the river of blood. Taylor’s chest rose and fell rapidly. She felt a panic attack on the verge of reaching the surface. Taylor tried taking deep breaths, but it didn’t seem to be working. The monsters were something that looked far worse than the depths of hell monsters. Then again, they might be one in the same. The monsters were grey, black, a little brown, and had many, many teeth. Their eyes were red, black, and one had eyes that were icy blue. Taylor began walking in the river downstream. She tried to avoid the monsters, but she noticed they kept following her. Taylor noticed that they were no longer growling at her, but more whining. She stopped and looked at the monsters on either side of the river. “Are you all friendly? If I come out you aren’t going to try to eat me are you?” Taylor asked the monsters. Blue giggled in Taylor’s head and said, “they are friendly. I spoke to each one of them. They are concerned that we are here and in the river of blood.” Taylor sighed in relief and headed to the river bank to get out of the nasty blood river.

The monsters began bowing and then panting like a dog would when happy. Taylor giggled as the one with icy blue eyes licked her. “I guess you all are very friendly. Where are you though?” Taylor asked still curious where she was. A male voice spoke in her mind, “master, you are in the nothingness realm. No one ever comes here, unless they are truly lost with who they are.” Taylor turned to the monster with red eyes and smiled. “What are your names? I mean, do you have names?” Taylor asked the three monsters. The one with icy blue eyes mind linked her and said, “we do not have names that we can translate for you to understand. You won’t be able to pronounce them either. However, our species is the hollow beasts.” Taylor nodded and then said, “my name is Taylor. You have spoken to my wolf Blue. I think I will call you Icy.” Taylor said pointing at the one with icy blue eyes. “I will call you Emberto, because of your red eyes.” Taylor said to the monster with red eyes. She then looked at the monster with black eyes and thought for a moment, trying to come up with a name. The monster gave a toothy smile and Taylor giggled and said, “I’ll call you Fang.” Taylor looked around and asked, “how do I get out of here? I have to wake up and get back to the real world.” Her new friends looked strangely at her and Icy asked, “you are here by dream?” “Yes, this is the first time I’ve been here though. I have visited other realms, but this is a first for me here.” Taylor explained. “You are the first to ever dream of being here and we interact like you are physically here.”Fang said still surprised.

Emberto then said, “there is really no way out of here. There is, but it is extremely dangerous.” Taylor smirked and said, “but I love danger. How do I summon someone in another realm?” Icy asked, “who are you trying to summon here?” Taylor smiled and said, “Zag, he’s kinda my mate.” Icy smirked and asked, “well, can you mind link him?” Emberto and Fang looked nervous when Taylor said Zag. Taylor mind linked Zag, “Zag, can you hear me?” Taylor and her new friends began walking while Taylor waited to see if Zag could answer her. “Taylor? Where are you? Are you okay?” Taylor smiled and replied, “I’m okay. I am in the nothing realm. I’ve already made 3 monster friends. I don’t know how to get out of here. Is there anyway you can help me?” “How in the world did you get to the nothing realm? Where are you currently?” Zag asked Taylor. “I am by the blood river. There are some trees and a little hint of grass.” “How did you make it that far? Okay, please, just stay where you are. I will be there soon.” Zag said and cut the mind link off. Taylor got the feeling he was a little mad and worried. “Zag is going to come here. Is it okay if we sit down and rest while we wait for him to come?” Taylor asked her new friends. Emberto shook his head, “Zag will kill us if he sees us with you.” Emberto said and Fang nodded his head. Icy rolled his eyes and said, “no he won’t we helped save Taylor. Besides, Taylor won’t let him harm us.” Icy looked at Taylor with a hopeful look. Taylor scrunched her nose and said, “why would he harm you three? You are my new friends who have been helping me. I won’t allow him to harm you.” Icy sat down and gave a toothy smile.
