Taylor

Taylor sat up covered in sweat. Her breathing was heavy and fast. “Damn, that was another messed up dream.” Taylor said to herself still trying to calm her nerves from the dream. Taylor Lyndal thought she was just an average teen who happen to have bad night terrors. Taylor looked at the clock and saw it was 5:30 am. “Sh*t, I better get ready. No one else in this place is going to cook.” Taylor said and hopped out of bed. She turned and quickly made her bed, then headed for the shower. Taylor was a senior in high school and could not wait until she graduated. She planned to move far away from this place. Taylor rolled her eyes as she finished her shower. “Why do I have to be given these awful nightmares? The entire pack thinks that I am crazy to top it off.” Taylor thought to herself as she rolled her eyes again at the thought of the pack. Taylor had friends, but she did not like the pack life. She wanted to be on her own where she got along with everyone she would run into. Taylor got out of the shower and finished getting ready for the day. Taylor looked in the mirror to make sure she looked good enough for school. Taylor had beautiful red hair, green eyes, and a small frame. She was around 5 foot 8 inches tall. She grabbed her bag and headed downstairs to fix breakfast for the pack house. Taylor finished making pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs with belle peppers, cheese, and some salt and pepper. She set them all in warming plates then grabbed herself a pancake with chocolate chips in it and a banana. She ran to her car and headed to pick her bestie up for school. Margaret stood on the porch waiting for Taylor to get there. She was average height with blonde hair, hazel eyes, and a small frame. Many others misjudged Margaret in training and they’d end up on the ground in no time flat. Margaret smirked as she saw her bestie pull up. “You running a little late today.” Margaret teased Taylor. Taylor laughed and said, “I had to make breakfast and you know I had to make myself a chocolate chip pancake as well.” Margaret smiled and asked, “wait, you made yourself one but not me?” Taylor laughed at her friend and pulled out a bag with an extra chocolate chip pancake just for Margaret. Margaret smiled and took the bag. “I knew you loved me. Thank you.” Margaret said as she opened the bag and took her breakfast out. Taylor pulled into the school parking lot and told Margaret she had another one of her night terrors. Margaret frowned and said, “why hasn’t your parents taken you to see someone? This has only been going on your whole life.” Taylor sighed and said, “yeah, I know. You know I am not the favorite child.” Margaret rolled her eyes and said, “you are the alpha and luna’s daughter. You would think as the pack leaders they wouldn’t want you to continue to suffer with these night terrors.” Margaret then looked down and clamped her mouth closed for a moment. “I’m sorry Taylor. I shouldn’t have over stepped. I know you love your parents. I just hate seeing you going through all of this.” Margaret said apologizing to Taylor. She knew that it bothered Taylor. The relationship between Taylor and her parents were strange as it was. They didn’t exactly put her in the attic, but they treated her more like she was the live in help than her daughter. “I know that you care Margaret, otherwise you wouldn’t say anything. I wish things were different. Oh how I wish things were different. However, they aren’t. Once I graduate, I plan on leaving and doing my own thing and living my own life.” Taylor said with a smile. Taylor and Margaret walked into school and to their lockers. Their lockers had been next to each other since they were old enough to have lockers. Taylor was counting down the days until she graduated. She was deep in thought as she took her books out for her class when someone bumped into her. “Oof!” Taylor heard a thud and looked around as she saw herself sitting on the floor. “What on Earth just happened?” Taylor asked as she started to get up off of the floor. “Here let me help you.” A voice said as a hand came into view. Taylor took it and got pulled up to her feet. Taylor looked to see it was her ex-boyfriend. “I’m sorry Taylor. I wasn’t watching where I was going. Are you okay?” Brad asked Taylor. Taylor had broken it off with him after he told her he found his mate. It was no hard feelings and they actually remained friends. “It’s okay. What on Earth were you doing?” Taylor said as she finished picking up her pens that dropped out of her hand. “I have managed to make Amber upset and was trying to order her some chocolates and flowers.” Brad said to Taylor. Taylor laughed and said, “I should have known. What did you do this time to make her mad?” “I’ll tell you about it later. I got to get to class.” Brad said as he hurried off to his class. Taylor heard the bell and she darted to her class with Margaret. Taylor kept seeing bits and pieces of her dream from last night. “Ugh, like having it in the first place isn’t bad enough. Why do I have to keep seeing parts of it while I am awake. I thought that we were suppose to not remember our dreams.” Taylor said to herself, trying to reason with her brain. “Miss Lyndal, are you not paying attention?” Mr. Thorn asked her. He was her math teacher and he was not impressed that she could spout off the right answer while she was still in her head. “I am paying attention Mr. Thorn.” Taylor said and then gave the answer to the question. Mr. Thorn rolled his eyes and said, “maybe you should stop day dreaming and focus on class.” Taylor looked at him and simply said, “okay Mr. Thorn, I’m very sorry.” “Just go to the office Miss Lyndal.” Mr. Thorn said to Taylor. Taylor looked at him and then asked, “what the h*ll did I do? I answered your question and apologized for being spaced out. I can’t help it if I am able to answer these math problems just by looking at them. That should be praised not punished.” Taylor got up from her desk and Mr. Thorn stood in front of her. “You will watch your tone with me Lyndal. I don’t care if your father is the alpha. I know he will punish you if I tell him what is going on.” Mr. Thorn threatened Taylor. Taylor pushed him out of the way and headed to the office. She could not stand Mr. Thorn. Taylor walked into the office and the receptionist looked up at Taylor and sighed. “What happened now Taylor?” The receptionist asked. “I was having flash backs to a dream I had last night and Mr. Thorn got mad because I answered the question correctly while not being able to control how well I was paying attention. I also might have pushed him out of the way when he threatened to tell my dad.” Taylor explained while she sat down in the chair. Mrs. Peters sighed and said, “your teachers know, as well as the pack, that you have night terrors and can not control when you have flash backs to them. He is just mad that you can answer the questions quicker than anyone.” Taylor laughed and said, “yeah, that’s what I told him.” Mrs. Peters shook her head and then went to the principals office. She knocked on the door and opened the door when she heard, “come in.” Mr. Bishop looked at Mrs. Peters and sighed. “Is Taylor out there again?” Mr. Bishop asked already knowing she was. “Yes, Mr. Thorn got mad because she answered the question correctly again while having flash backs of her night terror. I don’t like the fact he threatened to tell her dad and get her in trouble. She’s the smartest student here.” Mrs. Peters expressed to Mr. Bishop. He nodded his head and said, “please, send her in.” Mrs. Peters walked out and told Taylor to go ahead inside Mr. Bishop’s office. “Come on in Taylor and closed the door please.” Mr. Bishop said to Taylor. Taylor did as instructed and then sat down. “I’m sorry Mr. Bishop. I answered the mat problem correctly, like every other time. He’s just jealous I can answer the questions without paying attention.” Taylor said rolling her eyes thinking about her teacher being a jerk. Mr. Bishop smiled and then said, “Taylor, I think it is time to involve your parents. You are the smartest student here and the top student academically here. They need to be made aware of the issue with Mr. Thorn.” Taylor’s eyes went wide and shook her head. “No, my mother and father do not care. They will just blame me anyway.” Taylor said to Mr. Bishop. Mr. Bishop frowned and said, “I have no other choice. If they punish you for something out of your control then I will go to the council over their treatment. If it gets to bad then you pack what you can and come stay with my wife and I. I know Margaret would be thrilled.” Taylor sighed and said, “okay. Do what you feel is right. You probably won’t see me for a few days afterwards.” Mr. Bishop frowned at Taylor’s response. Bishop picked up the phone and dialed the alpha’s number. The office door opened and Margaret popped her head in. She quietly closed the door and sat down next to Taylor. The phone rang and luna Sarah answered the phone. “Hello?” “Hello. Luna Sarah, this is Principal Bishop.” Luna Sarah rolled her eyes and asked, “what did Taylor do now?” “While this is about Taylor, she is not the cause of anything. A teacher threatened her.” Mr. Bishop said to his luna. “I will take a guess it was Mr. Thorn. What happened this time?” Luna Sarah asked wanting to know what was going on. “Taylor was having a flash back to her night terror from last night. Mr. Thorn knew this and called for her to answer the question.” Mr. Bishop began explaining. Luna Sarah was confused and asked, “did she not answer the question?” “Oh quite the opposite. She answered the question correctly. Mr. Thorn does not feel she needs to be helped with her flash backs and gets mad when she answers the questions correctly.” Mr. Bishop explained. Luna Sarah sighed and said, “I will be there shortly. We are not telling alpa. I will take care of this. Thank you Mr. Bishop for calling.” Mr. Bishop hung the phone up and looked at Taylor. “F*ck, mom’s coming isn’t she?” Taylor asked and knew it was not going to be pretty. Margaret swallowed hard and held Taylor’s hand. “It’s going to be okay as long as she doesn’t tell your dad. You know your mom protects you as long as your dad doesn’t know.” Margaret said to Taylor. Taylor knew Margaret was right, but she knew that her mom would eventually tell her dad and that was when the trouble and punishments would start.
