Kyoko’s hand flashed out and drove the spike directly into his chest. Arms wrapped around her from behind at the exact moment she staked the vampire, throwing her aim off. She stared in horror, seeing she had imbedded the stake in the wrong side of his chest. Kyoko struggled against the vampire holding her, trying to reach the spike and pull it from him so she could have a second shot.
