Lightening flashed again, making the lights go out and Kyoko gasped in the darkness. Just before the lights went out, she could have sworn she’d saw movement. She heard the hospital generators kick on and one by one, the light returned. What she saw made her eyes widen in amazement. Darious was standing beside the bed of a little boy whose heart monitor echoed dangerously slow. He reached out and gently touched the boy’s forehead. The pace of the monitor sped up, making Kyoko’s heart race with it.
