CHAPTER TWO

The flight from Dolphineye to Georgia took eleven hours. As Evnoia alighted from the plane, she inhaled deeply, she was in Georgia. One would think being a princess, attending Kingdoms both far and near would be a normal thing for Evnoia but that wasn't so. Dolphineye was the first among the eight minor kingdoms and being a minor kingdom, getting an invitation to Georgia which was a major kingdom wasn't an easy feat. There are thirteen kingdoms in total, five major kingdoms: Georgia, Avalon, Dragon Island, Damcum and Parrotbeam and eight minor kingdoms: Dolphineye, Effidel, Marak, Equity, Elliot, Ember Island, Land of Light and Vanessa. The thirteen kingdoms were the only surviving kingdoms after the Great war, a world war that swept away over two hundred kingdoms. It was a very dire time, the people referred to it as the dark times. A lot of lives were lost and kingdoms destroyed. Hundred years later, there was the consolidation of kingdoms due to the failure of some kings to meet the needs of their people. Kingdoms merged together, rulers sacrificed their titles for the welfare of their subjects and over time thirteen solid kingdoms were created. The division of kingdoms into major and minor was dependent on how powerful a kingdom is. This division being an effect of the war, classed the kingdoms. Minor kingdoms as the name denotes was deemed inferior to the major kingdoms which were superior, and this brought a wedge between the two division of kingdoms. Though the kingdoms interacted, it wasn't as often as they should so as to build lasting relationships between kingdoms. A Lamborghini sent by Georgia Academy picked up Evnoia from the airport. It was a three hours drive, from the airport to the school. On getting to the gate, the driver stepped out of the car to scan his iris on the gate's in built retinal scanner. On recognition, the gate opened and he drove in. Evnoia wasn't surprised. Georgia Academy was known for it's top notch security,as not just normal persons attended the school but also royalties from various kingdoms. Once the car crossed the gate, Evnoia held her breath in excitement. She had always dreamed of being a student of Georgia Academy as well as a lot of high schoolers. To get admitted into the Academy, one needed to study very hard because the admission exams and screening process were almost impossible to surmount. Having written the admission exams twice, she could testify to that. As the car drove towards the school building, Evnoia had a good look at the exterior of the Academy. Georgia Academy covered a large mass of land. On both sides of the driveway were finely cut green shrubs, the short trees well taken care of. The school building stood in the middle in it's splendor. Evnoia had to admit that the architect did a very fine job in designing the skeletal form. The female and male dormitories were on either sides of the school's main building. The structure of both dormitories was also a grandeur. Summing it all was the kingdoms emblem(Saber toothed tiger with wings, also known as Sagres) which was sculptured with gold into a fountain, water gushing out the Tiger's mouth. It stood 200 steps away from the Academy, before the school's entrance. Taking all these in, Evnoia was wowed by the Academy's simple but majestic exterior. The car parked beside the fountain. Evonia alighted from the car, her bodyguard getting her things from the car's boot. "I will have to leave you now your highness." José said. They were inside the school, they sat at the waiting room. Evnoia had just completed her registration as a student. Her things were taken from her bodyguard by a school staff, to be kept in her room. "You have been of great help José." Evnoia replied. "Thank you." she smiled. "It is my duty your highness." José stood up, ready to leave. She looked at Evnoia with a hesitant look. "I will miss you." Evnoia hugged her. "This is not allowed your highness." "We are not in Dolphineye José." José patted her back before she withdrew, giving Evnoia one of her rare smiles, she turned and left. Evnoia looked down at the school Identification card and room card in her hands, feeling a bit lonely. "Missing home already?" Evnoia looked up, startled by the voice. Standing by the door was a pink haired girl. She looked rather short and had a small body, but her brown eyes had a hint of maturity in it. "Hi I'm Princess Sheila of Avalon." Sheila said, walking towards her. Evnoia stood immediately "Princess Evnoia of Dolphineye." She curtsied. "You don't have to be so formal." Sheila said , helping her up. "It is my first day too." Evnoia nodded in response. Looking down at her hands, Sheila beamed. "My room is opposite yours." She pointed at her room card. Evnoia looked down at her card and nodded. "You don't even know my room number yet you nod." taking a step closer she continued "You don't have to act with animosity due to our differences." "Animosity, that's pretty deep. I can't hate someone I just met." "Really? You're giving a "go away leave me alone" vibe." Sheila pointed out. " I am trying to avoid unnecessary trouble." She shrugged. "Believe me when I say I am not trouble. Shall we go now." Sheila smiled, linking their arms. That was fast, Evnoia thought looking at their linked arms. "One could get lost here, it's better to get lost together." Sheila said, leading the way.
