CHAPTER FOUR

Evnoia was awoken the next morning by a blaring alarm sound which rang annoyingly close to her ear.

"Go away." Evnoia muttered, half asleep as she covered her head with a pillow to stop the noise.

"Princess Delphine you have less than an hour to prepare for class." 0450 replied a bit impatient. It had expected her to be awake when he entered her room but not to his surprise, she was still fast asleep. It was seven minutes past eight! for crying out loud.

Like as if struck by lightning, Evnoia sprang out from her bed, coming to the realization that she was now in Georgia. "oh my God, I overslept." she exclaimed, rushing towards the nearest door which she thought was the bathroom door.

"wow, surprise." 0450 said in sarcasm "and that is not the bathroom, that's the door to the balcony the bathroom is on the far right."

"Thanks." Evnoia replied running past 0450 into the bathroom.

Evnoia emerged from the small walk-in closet fifty minutes later, dressed in a royal blue blazer,with a white shirt inside, neatly tucked into a high waist pleated royal blue skirt. She wore a black snap tie on her neck, black knee length socks and a beautiful black and white sneaker. Her curly brown hair was packed in a high bun, a few curls fell over her face, on which she applied light make up.

"How do I look?" She asked, a big smile on her beautiful small face. she was excited about her first day and happy to be wearing the Academy's uniform.

" Like a student. Now let's go, you are already late for the induction."

"induction?" Evnoia asked surprised.

"First year students don't have classes on their first day. Lessons start tomorrow."0450 explained. It handed Evnoia her communication watch which was left lying on the bed."Then why did you say I had less than an hour to prepare for class?" She asked taking the watch from it.

"That was the quickest way to get you up." It answered, simply.

"Very effective. "Evnoia said. She strapped the watch around her wrist. Looking at the new device, she was surprised it felt very light as if she had nothing around her wrist.

"So how does this work?" Evnoia asked gently touching the watch.

"There is a switch button by the right corner. Once it is switched on, you will be able to operate it because it's operation is similar to that of a smart phone."0450 explained. "We need to leave now princess Delphine." It said, opening the room door.

"Right." Looking around, Evnoia picked her phone which lay on her bed and made for the open door. Leaving her room, she locked the door and they made their way through the quiet hallway.

Evnoia stood before the big and very tall Mahogany wooden double door which was the entrance to the school building. There were beautiful carvings on the door and each edge was silver plated. The kingdom's emblem was beautifully sculpted in the center of the double door. Half of the Sagres was sculpted on each door so that when it is closed, it is a complete image. The sculpted Sagres had diamonds which it was beautifully endowed with, making the door not only magnificent and grandiose but also a bit intimidating.

Evnoia was about to push the large door open, when it opened of it's own accord. "Okay " she said smiling and nodding slowly. She was surprised and impressed. Entering the Academy, the door closed behind her.

The freshers were being inducted at the Academy's auditorium. Looking around her, Evnoia hoped she wouldn't get lost. 0450 had told her that the map of the Academy was a built-in feature of the watch and just like a compass or GPS locator, it could take one anywhere in the school. All she had to do was type in where she wanted to go and it would direct her.

Following the directions given by the watch, Evnoia walked to the nearest elevator and was about to get in when something caught her interest. It was the faint sounds of birds whistling which was coming from the opposite side from where she stood. She could hear this because the floor was quiet, students in class and teachers in their office or in classrooms. It would have been impossible to hear the birds if the floor was as noisy as it always was before classes, during break and after school. What intrigued her was the rhythm of the sound and how melodious it was.

Ignoring the instructions from the watch, Evnoia began walking the opposite direction. Following the sounds of the birds, she walked out of the Academy building through a back door she never knew existed.(Well, she was new to the school so there were a lot of things she didn't know about the Academy).

Evnoia was a bit surprised when she stepped out the door. A short iron gate with beautiful intricate designs stood not less than a mile away. Whatever was behind the gate was shielded by drawf walls all-round, and it was from in there that the sounds came.
