Chapter 14

A few days later

Alex:

I wake up every morning super early so I don’t get caught by Lily. I mean it’s creepy, that I’m sleeping there and she doesn’t know, but I need to be near her. I’ll try and keep that hidden as long as I can because once she finds out all hell is going to break loose.

Right now however, I’m helping my brother get his and my tux for the wedding. Two more days until the wedding and three more until we head home.

I’m sad thinking about going home because Lily won’t be coming with her internship and because she isn’t ready to give into the whole mate bond yet.

I am though taking her out tonight for dinner in celebration of her starting said internship. I was going to give her a few days to breath and think about it, when I asked her Tuesday but she said it was fine and she wanted to go. I thought she’d put up a fight, but I see she’s giving it a shot. Maybe she is taking her aunts advice.

I’ve been asking Emily what all she likes to do and came up with this perfect date. I’m a little nervous because I want her to like it, but I also want her to like me.

On our date, we are going to this new steak place in town called, Rowdy’s on the Ridge. We are going to go there and have supper, but before we are going to this puppy sanctuary that she use to volunteer at during high school.

Emily told me it was one of her favorite things to do because she never got to have a real dog. I do understand, because we are wolves and when pups are younger we do play with them in our wolves form, but once they get older they realize they’re also playing with humans. So it can just be a little weird.

I may even let her get a puppy there just to see her smile. She would also, have something protect her since I don’t have any guards to look after her right now.

They all come from good breeders, but these just didn’t sell. So people, bring them here in hopes to find these puppies their forever home.

Finally! I’m headed to her job in town to pick her up. I’m like a little kid in the candy store, I can’t sit still. I’ve missed her all day long. I’ll get to see her more tomorrow as she’s only working half a day, but right now I’m about to combust.

It’s 4:55 when I pull up to her office and I can see her packing up her purse and anything else she needs. Her boss,Shane walks over and starts to talk to her. I’m annoyed at that. Not because he’s her boss, but because I’m trying to see my girl.

My girl.. I like that.

It’s 5 o’clock and he’s still talking to her what are they talking about?

I listen in with my wolf hearing.

“You’ve done a great job so far Lily I’m impressed. Keep this up and I’ll hire your right out of college.” He tells her

“Oh that would be wonderful! I really appreciate that Mr. Shane.”

“Anytime Lily. Now what are your plans tonight?”

“Oh I’m going on a date with Alpha Alex. He’s actually outside waiting for me.” Then points outside to my suv.

I watch for his reaction and it’s not a good one. He clinches his fist at the mention of my name. That’s weird.. why would he be mad about that?

I wait for his reply after he seems to relax.

“Well Lily, you need to be careful with that Alpha Alex. He’s only going to break your heart while he’s here. Just be careful.” He tells her

What an asshole. I mean she’s my mate for crying out loud! I would never hurt her. I mean come on I’m trying to win her over!

“Don’t worry Mr. Shane, I don’t think Alex is going to hurt. In fact, I know he won’t.”

I let out breath I didn’t realize I was holding waiting for her reply.

It’s 5:15 I’m tired of waiting I’m going in to ask if she needs help and act like I wasn’t listening to the whole conversation.

I step out of my car and walk to the door. I take a deep breath and walk in.

I look at her and she looks up smiling at me. Gosh that smile. I’d do anything she’d ask me to do.

“Yes we would!” Axel says wagging his tale in the back of my mind.

“Hey beautiful. Are you ready?” I ask her

“Yes, let me grab my purse. Mr. Shane have a good night.” She says

I nod my head at him and follow her out the door. Once we get to the car door I open it for her to step in.

“Going all out I see.” She says smirking at me.

I laugh at that and lean into her after she sits down.

“Chivalry isn’t dead kitten. Plus, your my mate I’ll do this all the time once you let me mark you.”

I hear her heart beating like a race horse.

Gosh I love getting her worked up. Stepping back I close the door and make my way to the drivers side.

After driving a few minutes she finally ask where we are going.

“It’s a surprise. I’ve worked hard on this and I’m not telling you. I will say, I rented out the whole space for you though.”

Her mouth hangs open.

“The whole place? But why?”

“Well I heard somethings through the grape vine and I want you to be happy so I did this.” I say with a smile

A few minutes later, I pull up to the sanctuary and she lets out the biggest scream I’ve ever heard. I think she broke my damn eardrum.

“OH MY GOSH NO YOU DIDNT!!!! HOW DID YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS PLACE!?”

“I told you the grape vine.” I laugh

“I loved coming here and spending my time. My aunt and uncle would never let me get a dog. Thank you for this.” She says with the biggest smile stretched across her face.

What she does next shocks the hell out of me.

She kisses me.

Before she can back away I pull her into me. I put my hand behind her head and deepen it. Damn fireworks going off. I can’t let this end. I tighten my hands in her hair and she gasps allowing me access to her open mouth. I slips my tongue in and take over. She’s a damn fine kisser that’s for sure I can get use to this. I need to stop before we go in, but my c**k is asking for some type of action. So I pull her right hand over to c**k and let her rub me through my jeans. Damn that feels good. I growl into her mouth with satisfaction, but I pull her hand away before I c*m in my pants.

“That was nice.” She says

“Yeah it was and I’ve wanted to do that for almost a week now. But let’s go inside now before I lose all of my control. Also kitten, you smell divine I can’t wait to have you.”
