Chapter 20

Lily:

Oh for the f*****g life of me! Why does every man think they can just make out with me!? I stay calm this time and grab the front of his shirt to bring him closer to me and then bam!

I knee him right in the balls.

While he’s rolling on the ground I grab my purse and and run out the door only to run smack into a brick wall.

The person catches me and that’s when I feel like sparks.

Alex is here.

I grab him in a tight hug and pull him out the door, but he’s not moving with me.

“Alex! Let’s go I’m fine I just knees him in the balls!” I say

Still no movement. I look up at his face and his eyes are black.

“Axel..”

He looks at me, but stands still.

“Let’s go. I’m fine, I promise.”

“No little mate. He disrespected my future Luna and mate. He will not go unpunished.” He says

“Axel.. being kneed in the balls for any man is embarrassing enough. But for a werewolf to be brought down to his knees by a human. Sweetie, that’s even worse. Trust me his ego is hurt and so is his pride. Now let’s go.”

He finally gives in and we walk to his suv. We sit in silence a few minutes to calm him. I rub the back of his head for a while when I notice his eyes are no longer black, but back to their chocolate color.

“Hi..” I say

“Hey.. sorry about that. We were just going to surprise you tonight, but by the time I parked and got out you were pinned to the wall. I just lost it.”

“It’s okay like I said, I’m fine. I even handled this one by myself.” I say with a slight smile.

“I know, but you shouldn’t have to do that. That’s why I’ve had John on you. But I let him go early after lunch so I could watch you.”

I KNEW SOMEONE WAS WATCHING ME!

“So you were the one following?” I ask

He looks caught of guard when I say that.

“Wait you knew? How did you know I’m very good at not being detected.”

“Well you did a poor job today. I had a feeling I was being followed when I was walking back from lunch.”

“Damn it. I’ve lost my touch.”he says with a chuckle.

I laugh as well. It’s so good to see him. I’ve missed him.

I reach over and give him a kiss, but pull away before it goes to far.

“So you were surprising me tonight?”

“Haha yeah.. but it didn’t go as planned.” He says and he runs his palms against his face.

“Nope. However we can still celebrate and make this night better. Where are we goin?”

“It’s still a surprise I’m not telling you.” He says

“Okay well let’s go then!”

He starts the car and pulls out of the parking lot when I just realized we’ve left my car there.

Crap. It has all of my stuff.

“Wait my car!” I yell

“Don’t worry about it. Seems you aren’t very aware of your surroundings that you didn’t notice it’s been gone for 2 hours.”

Wait what!? How did I not notice my huge vehicle leave?

“Well who has my car?”

“John.. he’s taken it back to Black Moon for you.”

“Oh well okay. He could just told me.”

He looks at me like “really?”

“What?” I ask

“He would’ve ruined the surprise of my presence ding dong. You would’ve asked all these questions about why he was leaving and why he needed your car. Come on you that brain in there kitten.”

Well he was right about that.

After about 20 minutes of driving we pull up to my house. Really? My surprise is my house?

“I really don’t understand how this is a surprise.” I tell him

“All in good time kitten. Just wait that’s all I asking.”

I walk inside and everyone is there. My family, Emily and Dereck, and Emily’s parents.

“Oh my gosh what is everyone doing here!?” I yell

“Surprise!” They all yell

“We wanted to congratulate you on your internship and what better way than to throw a surprise party!” Emily yells

And everyone else nods their heads in agreement.

“Oh thank you everyone.” I say and hug Alex.

We all sit around the table and talk for a couple more hours when I decide it time for us to leave.

I hug everyone goodbye and we keep quiet as possible to not let Alex think anything is up. Well two can play at the surprise game.

We load up in the car and head to my new home. I’m so giddy inside, I can’t wait for Sunday.

Alex:

Tonight started like s**t.

I wanted to let Axel out and tear that mutt to pieces. But my kitten calmed me down and finished the job herself.

She is right though.

His pride and ego will be bruised. Everyone man has one weakness and that’s our balls.

I had some hope, go through my body when she was able to bring me back. With the legion that could happen at any moment my faith in her was strengthened in that moment.

I will eventually need to tell her about it. I just don’t know when the right time will be considering, we just got in a good place. Hopefully, it doesn’t start soon, because I won’t know how to tell her.

I glance over at her as I’m driving home and she’s knocked out. She’s so peaceful when she’s asleep and I hate to wake up in the next 30 minutes, but we have one more surprise.
