Two weeks later
Lily:
Each time I leave Black Moon I feel my heart shatter into a million pieces. But this is the last time I will be leaving.
I told my family last week that I needed help packing all of belongings this week because I would officially be moving to Black Moon after Friday.
My Aunt Rose was so happy, but my Uncle Alec was ready to chain me to the bedroom door. He thinks I’m giving up on my dreams, but I’m not and I’m willing to bet Alex will keep his promise. I can’t wait to see his face next weekend when I don’t leave. That’s right, I still haven’t told him. Things have been good between us but I can see how me not being there has affected him since he’s found me. Everyone at Black Moon knows I’m his mate and everyone seems very happy about it. No body even cares that I’m human, but I think it’s mostly because they know I grew up in pack.
I pull into my family home after the hour drive and stare at it for a couple of minutes. This is the last time I’ll see it on a Sunday night.
I look up at the sky and speak to the moon goddess.
“Please let this week go by fast and I’ll promise no matter what I’ll give into the bond quickly.”

Friday
Finally it’s Friday. I’m walking into the office for the last time. This internship has been fun and I’ve learned a lot, but Shane has been kind of weird this last week.
Apparently Alpha James, made an announcement last Sunday without warning me, that I would be leaving the pack for good and it was because I was going to be the new Luna at Black Moon. Many were surprised and I guess Shane didn’t think our date was serious.
Oh well, it’s not like I was interested in Shane anyways. He’s cute and all, but he’s not my type. Even if I wasn’t Alex’s mate I wouldn’t be interested in Shane.

A couple of hours have passed when it’s almost lunch. I’m packing up my bag when I hear my boss.
“Excuse me, Lily.” Shane says
“Yes sir, what can I do for you?” I say
“This paperwork for the Samples are all wrong. You’ve got to redo them before you leave today. I’ve highlighted where it’s wrong. It happens and you’ve hardly made any mistakes here so don’t beat yourself up.I’m going to head to lunch don’t worry about this until after. Take a break and let your mind breath then come back and work.” He says and walks out the door.
WRONG!? I asked him for help on most of this. I scan the pages and about 60% of this paperwork is wrong. He is right though, I’ll take a break rest my mind and come back before a blow up.
*****
Sitting at lunch, I’m going through the pages and I don’t understand why it’s wrong. Everything is matching up with the charts. Or so I think. Maybe I’m missing something from the charts?
I let out the most dramatic sigh of my life when John steps out of the shadows.
“Damn it John.”
He chuckles at that.
“What’s wrong? I can feel your anxiety all the way in my hiding spot” he says
You remember when Alex said I was getting a warrior bodyguard? Well, this is him. He’s been with me the last three weeks. John is a couple years older than me and he is actually fun to be around. I thought he’d be mute and a brick wall. But the opposite has actually happened.
He’s nosy, fun, and very friendly. John is 6”9 with blonde hair and green eyes. He’s tan from the summer sun and is extremely fit. This man made me run two miles the other morning at the crack of dawn. I don’t mind running... just not at the crack of dawn.
He’s mateless, but I know he feels the bond with my cousin Kate. I overheard him talking to my aunt about it and then one day I cornered him. He didn’t lie, but asked me not to tell Kate. Kate is 17 and six months away from being 18 and his wolf Simba, has already reached out to hers. Kates wolf Amethyst said she won’t tell Kate.
“I’m fine.. it’s just that Shane said this is all wrong.” As I hand him the papers
He flips through each one and writes down some information that I guess I missed and hands it back.
I flip through as well and look back him at him.
“How did you come up with any of this?”
He laughs at me
“Wolves are naturally smart Luna. Sorry, but you’re a human and as humans do you make small mistakes.”
“Funny because I asked Shane about these. He said I couldn’t leave until this was finished.”
He growls at the mention of his name.
“Well he gave you the wrong answers if he helped you. I don’t like that guy Luna. He’s got it big for you.”
I sigh and nod my head.
“I know.. but today is the last day. With these right answers, I’ll make sure to drag it out and ask questions so he knows someone didn’t help me.”
“Smart. Listen, go back to work and get this done. I’m going to meet Kate at the ice cream shop across the street from the office..”
I interrupt him before he can’t even finish.
“Wait you’re going on a date?”
“Kind of..”
“Dude! You are suppose to be watching me.”
“I am, don’t you worry Luna.” He winks and then leaves me.
I would normally probably be mad if my life was in danger, but it’s not. So he can have some fun. Him and Kate have been doing things like this for a while. I think she feels the pull, but doesn’t understand what’s going on. Probably thinks he’s being nice to a girl with a crush.
Oh young love.
I’m walking back to work when I feel like someone is watching me. I don’t make an sudden movements, but stay calm because I’m 500ft from the office door. I walk in very calmly and sit down like nothing is wrong and get to work.
After three hours I’m done with the paperwork. I asked for help as well so he didn’t think anything was up.
“Well it’s your last day. Want to grab a drink?” Shane ask from his doorway.
“I wish, but I’m actually headed to Black Moon.”
“Oh yes.. I forgot we have a future Luna in our presence.” He says with a fake smile
“Haha yes.. kind of nervous, but excited.”
“You’ll do well don’t sweat it.”
“Thank you.” I say with a smile.
I finish packing up when I notice Shane is right next to me.
“Woah you scared me.” I say to him and next thing I know he has me pinned against the wall.
