Alex:
I wake up the next morning and my little kitten is curled up right next to me.
Damn she’s beautiful.
Every time I see her she gets more beautiful. I love Saturday mornings waking up to her. I’m ready for this to be an everyday event.
I kiss her temple and she stirs awake.
“Good morning kitten. Did you sleep well? I ask
“Shh I need.. five more minutes and maybe some coffee before you start talking.”
Oh how could I forget that?
“Alright lazy ass, but give me a kiss at least.”
She sits up just enough to give me a kiss and man she really gets with it.
Wait, why is she licking my face?
“Lily stop licking me that’s weird and gross.”
Then she starts to bark at me...
Oh no, this is a dream.
I jolt up in bed and in fact find that little s**t right by my head staring down at me. I look over and notice Lily isn’t even in the bed.
Where did she go?
Besides her disappearance, I had two rules. But no, Lily got her way and the dog broke both rules in one night.
“Come here you little shit.”
I grab the dog, and sit her in between legs and have a nice long chat with her since her mother lets her do what she wants.
After our chat, I get up and get dressed for the day. As I’m getting ready, I do think about the dream and how nice it would be to have Lily here all the time. We never talked further about the future, but I want her to stay here.
I’ll have her finish school of course, but I want her to take online classes and finish her degree here at home. My home. Maybe one day our home.
I finish getting ready and head into the living room where I see my little kitten and the s**t all circled up on the couch.
“Where were you this morning?” I ask her
“Making breakfast, why?”
“Because your little dog was on my pillow and licked my face! I was having a nice dream about you and it was ruined because of her!” I say pointing at the dog.
“Hahahahaha! Oh gosh I love it! Oh I’m so glad I left her in there while I was cooking. Please tell me you have cameras. I would love to see that.”
“This isn’t a laughing matter Lily.” I growl at her.
She sits up a little straighter now. But that little s**t, has the nerve to growl at me.
We both stare shocked at it.
I growl back because I’ll be damned if someone, even a dog growls at me.
The little s**t doesn’t give up. But I do, only because I’m happy it’s defending my kitten.
I walk over to pet her, but then she tries to bite me. Okay that’s it, I took care of her for two weeks and now I’m the bad guy. Fine let’s see who gets up in the middle of the night to take her out.
“You live up to your name Alexa. You’re such a good girl. I love you.” She says
Great, now even the dogs get an I love you before me.
“It’s time we take the dog back to the shelter.” Axel say marching to the front of mind.
“No. We won’t do that to her.”
“Fine, but I’m laying down some laws. Let me have control.”
“What? Hell no dude, go back to where you were.”
We fight for a couple more minutes when I let him take over.
“Little mate, we need to talk.”
Lily:
I noticed Alex is talking to wolf so I decide to check i********: for a bit.
A few minutes has passed, and they are still going at it. I wonder what’s got them going this morning?
Then I hear a deeper voice finally speak.
“Little mate, we need to talk.”
It’s Axel.
“Good morning.” I look up at him and smile
“Morning little mate.” He says, but no smile.
He sit down beside me and pats his lap. I know that sign.
I get up so I can sit and straddle his lap.
I don’t look at him yet. I look behind him. He usually only wants to talk when he knows Alex is hiding something and he thinks I should know, or when he needs attention. I think I know what he needs.
“Little mate, look at me.”
I do as he ask of me. He seems pleased with that because he smiles. At least, he’s in a good mood now.
“Yes, Alpha.”
He growls at that. Not to lie, but I did that on purpose.
“Don’t distract me little mate. That dog, is a good dog, until you came and in one night threw out everything Alex taught her. She will stay in that bed tonight and not ours. Got it?”
I’m willing to die on this hill.
“No. The rule is she stays or we both go.” I cross my arms just for the dramatic affect.
His fingers tighten on my hip and thankfully this time his nails didn’t come out. Axel has an issue with not getting his way. He can’t take a little human standing up to him.
“Lily. That dog is staying in her bed. You will be staying in ours. I will handcuff you to it if I have to. Your very luck Alex got you that dog. I was against it. Now show appreciation and stop being a spoiled brat.” He practically growls at me.
I’m a little taken back. He’s never talked to me like this before. I even feel a tear go down my face.
I swipe to make sure it was real and it in fact was.
I take a few minutes to compose myself because I’m a little hurt, but I can see that he’s very serious about this.
“I’m sorry.. I didn’t think it was the big of a deal. But I see that it is. I’ll have her stay in her bed.”
He calms down at my words and shakes his head.
“I’m sorry too. I should not have growled, it’s not that big of a deal. But there are rules, and she broke them.”
I wait just in case he has more to say and he does. I can feel the emotions pouring out of him.
“Do you love her more than me little mate?”
My heart breaks at hearing this. Of course I love him. I love him just as much as Alex. They are one in the same. But I haven’t been spending any time with him because I’ve only been her on the weekends. So I can understand his pain.
I grab his face and bring his lips to mine. I deepen it adjust for a little bit before I pull away.
“I love you little mate. But we need to spend time together. You don’t have a wolf and I need you. And you telling that dog, you loved her got to me.”
“I love you and I love you too Alex. It wasn’t how I wanted to tell either of you, but it’s the way it is.”
Then one of the weirdest things happen.
They both speak to me at the same time.
“We love you too.”
