Chapter 2: Four Years Later

Lily:

Well you could say I liked college a little too much because I never went home once I got here. I do miss the pack, but I got to find me and who doesn’t want to find yourself. I’ve dated a couple of guys but nothing serious that’s for sure I mean come on I’m only 20.

However, I’m driving home right now for the summer. I’m working as an assistant to a finically advisor in town because one day thats what I hope to be doing.

I’m also going back because my best friend since 4 has found her mate. It took Emily two years to find her mate. His name is Derek and he is the Beta at Black Moon. He is 32 to her 20 which I’m not surprised she is mated to someone 12 years her age. Emily always liked them older but hey we both did and in werewolf world it’s a little different. Your mate could be 40 and you 18 and no one would think one thing about it.

I know Derek is probably happy about finding his mate after all these years. Funny, all he had to do was come with his Alpha brother to these Alpha meetings like every other Beta and he would have found her sooner.

Also, our two packs are only an hour away so it’s weird they hadn’t met sooner just because Cherry is the biggest town and theirs only has Dollar General. I mean wow small town for sure.

I look at the clock on my iPhone and notice I have 20 minutes to get there or I’ll be late to help welcome the groom to be and Emily will have my head if I missed that.

I watch my speed go from 45 to 90 and pray that no one else is on the road because I’m about to shave off time and beat the gps that says it will take me 25 minutes to get there

“I’ll show you!” I yell at the gps.

Super glad this Range Rover glides because it’s about to wild.

Alex:

Dear Moon Goddess what have I done to deserve Derek as my brother? Seriously, we have 10 minutes left in this drive and he won’t shut up about Emily. I swear all he does it talk about her and it’s been a long hour in this car. I mean I can’t catch up a break the other day I walk in on them doing FaceTime s*x. Like what the actual hell? I do feel bad for Emily though little small thing she is won’t be able to walk for weeks after they mate.

One thing for sure we sure do have big c***s in this family. Still weird I saw my brothers but at least the rumors are true I think to myself and laugh.

My little brother found his mate and all I had to do is drag him to an Alpha meeting. To top it off Emily’s dad is the Beta at Red Stone so Beta blood will run deep and she already knows the role of a Beta wife because of her mom.

All we gotta do is get through this “marriage ceremony.” I role my eyes every time I say those words. We are werewolves we don’t do this but Emily apparently loves romance movies and has always wanted one. So here we are with a big wedding.

The last time I saw Emily she was with her human best friend Lily before this last Alpha meeting which was four years ago. Both girls were 16, children if you ask me and still are but I’m 14 years older than both of them so everyone is a child.

I take a deep breath 5 more miles to go and “s**t” I yelled as a black Range Rover almost runs us off the road!

“Who the f**k was that!?!” “I’ll have their ass when I get to the pack house!” I look over furious as my brother is laughing his ass off.

“Sorry Alex that would be Lily. Emily just text me and said Derek watch out Lily is late and she will run you over. Look out for a black Range Rover.”

“Great and you just told me after the fact she ran us off the road dumbass?”

“Well I just got the text and looked back and well it was too late”

“I’ll let Emily know she almost ran us over and will be there in 30 seconds like she’s driving”

I roll my eyes and face the road again and think to myself “I’m an Alpha of one of the largest packs in America and I’ve almost got taken out by a human.”

This is going to be a great weekend as long as the human stays away from me after what just happened.
