Fell in love with my brothers enemy

Leah had just moved into her twin brother's home for a little bit, his name was mason. She had just divorced her toxic husband he was abusive towards her and her daughter Mia who's 3. Kyle was her husband he would sexually and physically abuse her almost everyday, she got so sick of it that she left one day while he was at work. Leah only brought the essentials her and her daughter needed then she moved out of her home and in with her brother because she didn't really know anybody else. Leah's Pov: It's been a few months since I moved out and divorced my husband, but I still can't get over him I still love him. My brother told me to try and get a job so I can get back on my feet and focus on me and Mia also to try and find someone new to forget my husband...like that will be easy. I wake up early the next morning to go out into town to find a new job while my brother has the day off to babysit my daughter Mia. I eventually find a big company, the boss of it needs a new assistant I've never been one but how hard can it be? I walk in and see a secretary at the front desk she looks me up and down before rolling her eyes. "What are you here for ma'am?" The lady said with a plain tone almost sounding annoyed. "I am here to apply for the position of assistant of the boss" I say trying to sound nice but not like a suck up. She looks so agitated and annoyed at me I don't even know why though I didn't do anything. She picks up a phone on the desk and calls the boss then says to him once he picks that he has another applicant for the position of assistant. The boss tells her to send her into his office then she stands up waving her hand in a gesture meaning I have to follow her so I follow her to the boss's office. When I get in there the secretary leaves shutting the door behind her. The boss is sitting at his desk and he looks tall while sitting he's also kind of attractive with his black hair, greyish green eyes, lip piercing, and suit. I don't even realize I'm starting to space out till the guy sitting at the desk clears his throat and I snap out of it and I look away a little embarrassed "sorry I just got distracted" I said trying to sound calm. "look at me, tell me why I should I hire you hm?" I look at him and it's almost like his eyes are piercing into mine it's very intimidating and I try to talk but I'm almost too scared to say anything so I just look away again. "Look at me, don't look away. Do you want this job or not?" he said narrowing his eyes at me slightly and so I look back at him not making eye contact though then I nod. "That's not a valid answer I want to hear you say it" he said speaking slightly louder and I respond quietly "yes sir.." he nods then asks "why should I hire you then give me one good reason why I should" the thing is I don't really know why he should all I know is I'm desperate for a job and I need money "uhm I just really need a job so I have money to support me and my daughter we live with my brother and I need to get my own home please just let me have the job" his expression is unreadable "do you think I care about some sob story, you think I'll feel pity for a random stranger and just give you the job?" he asks clearly a rhetorical question which makes me look away upset thinking he won't give me the job "I'll think about it, now grab an application off my desk and get out of my office before I change my mind" he says turning his chair facing the backside of it towards me while I grab an application and run out of the office not wanting to be there another second. I start having doubts about wanting to take the job but I have to do this for my daughter Mia... I get home about 40 minutes later after leaving the billionaire's office and I walk into my brother's house where I've been staying with my daughter Mia. I see my brother Mason and Mia napping on the couch passed out like they've been running around for hours which I don't doubt it. Mason opens his eyes as he hears me open the door "how'd it go?" he asked rubbing his eyes trying to wake up. "Well I talked to someone and got an application they said they'll think about hiring me so fingers crossed" he sits up and looks at me "what job did you apply for" I tell him the job I applied for an assistant for the boss to a big company he asks me what company, and I tell him the company then he stares at me in shock. "are you stupid?? The boss there is James Wilson the biggest asshole I've ever met. I used to work for him, and he was the biggest douchebag ever I f*****g hate him" Mason says while shaking his head slightly with disappointment. "I'm sorry I didn't know but it pays good money and I need a job so if he hires me I have to accept it" I sit down on the couch next to him "good luck getting yelled at about the stupidest things ever" Mason got very agitated just talking about the man I met earlier, James Wilson how bad can he be though? We both sit in silence for a while and the room gets awkward from the silence.
