Her Bestfriend's Case

❂Chapter 8❂

August 14

There was knocking at the door, and both Kylie and her father looked at each other and then walk up to the door and Kylie’s father answers it.

“Hello, we need you down at the station now, we found new evidence of Keely and we need Kylie down for questioning, she did nothing wrong, but we go through Keely’s closest friends first.” The detective says.

 It was the very same one from a few days ago.

Kylie looks down and bites her lip.

“Yeah, of course we’ll be down in an hour.” Kylie’s father tells the guy.

He nods and then starts to step down the porch.

“Get dressed, and I’ll text your mom, so she won’t worry.” Kylie’s father says while walking in the living room and grabbing his phone.

Kylie just nods and then grabs her phone and heads upstairs to change.

While she is changing, she sends Peter a quick text message letting him know what just happened then went back to changing.

“Follow me please.” The same detective says once Kylie and her dad made it to the local station.

Kylie lets out a sigh and then follows the dude while her dad is following her.

“In here.” The other detective says while opening the door to what looks like an interview room.

Kylie then takes a seat and her dad is seated next to her while the detectives sit across from her and one of them are holding an iPad.

“What we are about to show you, is very upsetting, we just showed Keely’s parents early this morning and they were really upset.” Detective #1 says while logging into the iPad.

“Just show me.” Kylie orders the guy.

He nods and then slides the iPad to her, and she holds it up with both of her hands.

It looks like a surveillance video.

“This was taken on July 28, at 4 am.” The detective says.

Kylie then clicks on the video.

It shows Keely’s car, and there was Keely getting handcuffed by a random guy wearing a blue ski mask, then another guy gets in her driver’s seat, and then after getting handcuffed,  the same guy that did so to her opened the trunk and then lifted her up and placed her inside it, she was crying and he then grabs some Gorilla glue and glues her mouth shut making Keely sob.

“It’s amazing how she was able to write that note still even after being handcuffed.” One of the detectives says.

Just then Kylie remembers something.

“Keely always knew how to get out of handcuffs, ever since we both went to magic camp when we were eight, I remember because I handcuffed Keely one time for fun then took the key with me outside her bedroom and down the stairs then she came down minutes later uncuffed and we were home alone.” Kylie informs the men while keeping her eyes on the video.

She then sees the car driving away.

“Is there another video?” Kylie asks the men while giving them back the iPad.

“Nope, that was the only one, but this gives us a very good lead, that place they were at is the gas station, we’re going there today.” The detective says to Kylie.

Kylie just nods and then stands up.

 “Thank you, and please keep me updated.” Kylie says to them.

They both stand up and nod.

Kylie then follows her father out.

They are getting close to finding Keely James.

“Wait, do you know a Hunter Hudson?” One of the detectives asks.

“Yeah, but I haven’t seen and spoken to him in weeks.” Kylie says with a sigh.

It’s true, after she met up with him at the ice cream place, he hasn’t contacted Kylie and she would try to call him, but he just hangs up.

“He hangs up whenever I try to check up on him.” Kylie adds, making damn sure that they know that.

“Well, he’s a person of interest, so let us know if you two make contact.” One of the detectives say sternly.

Kylie nods and then walks out of that place.
