I spent most of my Saturday filtering through the names and pictures that Steve had sent me. One, in particular, caught my eye.
It was a girl I went to Law School with. The notes he sent showed that he was dating her a few weeks ago. Gina Morrowitz was a corporate lawyer, and I wondered why he didn’t use her instead of me.
I needed to interview her but needed a plan. The whole conflict of interest may work. I could say I got hired as the company’s attorney, but she may not give me personal information. I needed something to get her to open up. I suddenly remembered something that may help. I took my phone out and dialed Roberts’s number.
“Hey, Cass, what’s up?”
“I got a sort of favor to ask,” I hope this worked.
