Chapter 5

1040 Words
Elara's POV My eyes slowly flickered open, the rays of sun dancing through the leaves made my eyes squint. I could feel the forest floor against my back, the dead leaves and dirt underneath me, I struggled, trying to sit up, staring at the tall trees and shrubs. Where am I? What am I doing here? I asked myself trying to remember what happened. The more I tried to remember, the more pain I felt at the back of my head. I finally gave up, standing on my feet trying to find my way out of the woods. Dense woods surrounded me, and having no sense of direction, I prayed to the moon goddess for help. Soon after I heard a voice saying; "Follow the path leading towards the sunset, you'll find your way." Thank you, moon goddess, I exclaimed happily in surprise. "Come on silly, it's me, Lily, your wolf." I heard a giggle. "Were you thinking the moon goddess would come down and show you where to go?" "Oh," I chuckled, smiling in confusion yet approval. "You got me there, But Lily, do you remember how we got here? Cause I can't recall a damn thing." I asked her hoping she would remember. "Not at all, I woke up the same time you did. I can't remember anything." She continued. " Let's head in that direction, I can smell something coming from there." I nodded in agreement, "Yeah, we could probably find someone that knows something about us as well. Skin turning fur, she fell on all fours, I could feel how big and strong of a wolf she was. Her powerful hind legs pushed us forward. She raced through the bushes like a bullet, I felt the wind moving over her frame, it felt so peaceful watching her dive through the broken logs and branches. After a while, We finally arrived at a path, hoping it led to the city. Along the path was a creek, she stopped by to quench her thirst. While she was drinking I saw her reflection. She was a large wolf with white furs, she had a sky-blue gradient trailing from her head through her back down to her tail. While her belly and legs had bright white furs. She was so beautiful. After she finished drinking, she was startled when she noticed a man standing on the other side of the creek silently watching her. All dressed up in a Palace uniform. "Wait, how did he get so close to us unnoticed?" Lily exclaimed with concern while moving a few inches back. "Who are you? And state your business here!" He commanded. "I…I don't know, I can't remember!" I stuttered, changing back from my wolf, trying to cover my areas. Another guard walked in handing me a coat to wrap myself in, while I sat beside the creek. "One from this pack would have known that this area of the creek is meant for royal hunting." He said tilting his head to his side, with his eyes making a slit he continued. "which means you don't belong here." He said while stepping closer. "Commander, She's a rogue, let's do away with her." The soldier commented, with his hand on his gun's waistband. "Wait, She doesn't smell like one." He commanded. The Commander pulled in closer to me standing right beside me, he threw a warm glance at me. He was tall and charming, his voice deep yet carrying a soothing cadence. He stretched his hand forward to give me a lift, and another of his soldiers voiced, "Be careful Commander, it might be a trap." Instead, he forged ahead, with his gaze fixated on me, disregarding the advice his soldiers gave to him. "I know one when I see one." He said pulling me up with a firm yet gentle grip. A jolt of electricity ran through my body as our hands came in contact. It sent a tingling sensation right down my spine. "Where did we stop? So can you at least remember your name? He asked," this time I just shook my head. "The more I tried to remember the more pain I felt," I replied, my voice barely over a whisper. "Alright, let's pack up." He commanded. "We're taking her back to the Alpha, He would have a better say in this." They all nodded in agreement. Walking down with the commander I felt protected, this was something I felt I never experienced even if I couldn't remember. We finally arrived at a royal tent. The city can be seen from this point. "Commander Charles! What's the latest?" The voice carried a blend of authority and youthfulness. The masculine figure walked out of the tent without a shirt on. His physique, a sculptured masterpiece, accompanied by a broad shoulder. "It was a success sir, the guests arrived safely in all residing cities, and we got positive feedback from them." The commander responded. He stood in front of us with a towel around his neck, trying to dry out the moisture in his silky dark hair. The way he moved had a tender grace. His piercing blue eyes shot right at me. "And who's the girl?" He added, his voice sending a tingling sensation down my spine. "He noticed us." My wolf danced around. I could feel the Commander's grip tightening against my wrist. "We found her at the creek, she claims she has no memory, So we're taking her to your father." The commander responded. After a pause staring at me, he continued "Alright, Go ahead then." The Commander's grip loosened for a bit, I did feel uncomfortable because it started to hurt. As soon as we passed him, his scent was intoxicating. He had a sweet sandalwood scent mixed with crispy berries. I wished to linger just a minute more in his presence. Soon after I heard the word escaping from my wolf's mouth, She voiced, "Mate". I turned my head around to look at him, hoping he would feel the same way but he just stood still backing us. After walking a few steps, A voice said from behind us. "Wait!" We turned around, it was him. A smile crept out the side of my lips.
