Birthday Surprise

*** Myah P.O.V***

I met Lawrence in the hallway in 30 mins. I don't have many cute clothes, but I did have a beautiful yellow sundress and gladiator sandals.  I washed my hair and put curl creme in it so my curls would be fresh, and did my makeup.  When Lawrence saw me, he smiled. So I must have done an excellent job.  Lawrence looked handsome as well.  He had on a pair of dark jeans, a white polo shirt, and timberland boots. 

"Are you ready for your surprise?" Lawrence asked, taking my arm in his.

" Yes!" I squealed. I love surprises.

When we came down the steps, the living room was dark. I could tell there were people, but I was unsure of what was going on.  When we reached the bottom railing, the lights came on.  The living room was full of pack members. Some of them I had already met and some I had not.  I looked to Lawrence with scrunched eyebrows trying to figure out what was going on, and he was smiling.  

When I looked at the crowd again, it began to split down the middle.  A woman was walking towards us with a humongous birthday cake.  

Ohh, it's someone's birthday, I thought to myself.  Then I heard Rain say, " Myah, they are celebrating us, this for us, Myah. Our mate is so sweet she purred." 

At that moment, tears began to roll down my face. I was so overwhelmed that  Lawrence and his friends and family wanted to celebrate my birthday. The person carrying the cake walked up the last few steps, and everyone began singing " Happy Birthday." When they said my name, I noticed some people said " Myah"  and others said "Luna." I laughed to myself, thinking they hadn't had the chance to learn my name yet.  

I blew out my candles and turned to the crowd and said, "thank you." I am not sure if they could hear me because I'm sure it came out as a whisper with all of my emotions. 

I turned to Lawrence and practically jumped in his arms. I was kissing him passionately, running my fingers through his hair. I could hear Rain yelling, " let mate mark you"  " we love our mate" she was howling and jumping around in my head. I could feel she wanted this just as much as I did.  Lawrence picked me up, and I wrapped my legs around him, I could hear people in the crowd cheering, but at the moment, I did not care. When we reached the top of the stairs, Lawrence pinned me against the wall, and we continued our kiss. His mouth pressed hard against mine, and I pushed back with my mouth open and my tongue fighting his for dominance. I felt like I couldn't get enough of him. His smell and touch were everything to me. We finally broke away from our kiss, panting in each other's arms. 

"Oh no, Lawrence, I can't believe I did that in front of a room full of people. I'm so embarrassed, I said, shaking my head and looking down. Lawrence lifted my chin and looked me in my eyes. 

"Don't worry, lots of us get passionate about our mates. They understand the mate pull and do not think anything less of you. Finding your mate is a blessing; we do not take it lightly." Lawrence said 

As we walked down the steps to the dining hall, my face felt like it was on fire. When we entered the dining hall, there were two seats next to Lawrence's father.  I was worried everyone would make fun of me or think badly of me. When I looked up, everyone was talking about and enjoying themselves. I guess they didn't think badly of me. 

When I looked at Lawrence, he was smiling at me, "ready to eat ?"

*** Lawrence P.O.V***

I introduced Myah to my beta  Marcus and his wife, Marie. Marie was the same age as Myah.  I was hoping they would hit it off since they would be spending a lot of time together.

Marie and Myah asked each other questions getting to know each other, and Myah seemed to be enjoying it. 

" So, what pack are your parents from?" Marie asked. 

" I am not sure. I just found out all about being a werewolf a few days ago," Myh said down, casting her eyes. 

I mind linked Marie to change the conversation. 

" I'm so sorry, Myah! Sometimes I am way too nosy," Marie said

"It's okay, Marie. It is something I would like to find out she said, smiling". Myah said. 

Marie then began talking to Myah about the mall nearby and how they could go shopping. 

"That sounds like a lot of fun, Myah said. I'm afraid I'll have to find a job though because I don't have much money. " Myah said. 

The whole table went quiet. They were not staring at Myah, but they were no longer talking. I am sure they were wondering why the future Luna thought she would need a job.  I mind linked them to carry on, as usual, I didn't want to embarrassed Myah. 

"Myah, you don't need any money. As my mate, it is my job to take care of you. When you go to town with Marie, you will get whatever your hearts desire, mainly because we are celebrating your birthday. " I told her. 

Myah blushed, and stammered "I-I couldn't."

I cut her off immediately and said, " Myah, that is my final word," smiling at her and speaking firmly so she knew I could not be persuaded. 

Myah smiled and nodded her head.  She then continued her conversation with Marie. I looked to my father at the head of the table, and he smiled and nodded at me.  

He mind-linked me.  " You handled that great son. It's obvious no one has ever taken care of her.  Now that her wolf is out, she will shift soon and then go into heat. She needs you now more than ever."

" I know, father. I hope our meeting goes well tomorrow; this is a lot to take in.  Especially for someone like Myah who is new to it all," I said 

" I know, son. The moon goddess doesn't make any mistakes, though. An alpha is blessed with a mate that is capable of leading a pack. Myah wouldn't be in this role if the potential weren't there. So your job is to help her tap into it. " he said. 

I nodded, knowing my father was right. As alpha and father, he is loving, firm, and honest. 

When I looked up, Myah was clearing the table. Most of the pack members were looking confused. This was a job our omegas rotated.  While our omegas are given domestic duties, we treat them fairly, and we pay them for it. Alphas, betas, and warriors do not do chores. 

"Myah, what are you doing?" I say

"I'm clearing the table. What does it look like, Lawrence? "

"Myah, we have... employees that do that. It's their job." I tell her. 

"One of the omegas named Sandy exited the kitchen taking the plates. Myah, it's also your birthday celebration. While I appreciate the help, I would be offended if you assisted on your birthday.  You've had a long day of travel as well, and you should relax."

" Well.... okay, Myah said, smiling. 

I mind linked Sandy thanking her. She handled it well. 

I grabbed Myahs hand and asked her what she would like to do for the rest of the night. 

"Can we watch the movie or finish making out why we don't watch the movie again? She asked blushing. The second part came out very softly, but I could still hear her. I could also smell that she was aroused as well. 

Loki howled inside of me as I was leading Myah back up the stairs.
