After my grandma said that, I ran towards an exit. I know Duke would have told the guards to not let anyone through the main entrance of the basement. And so I used the other that I discovered the first night I came to this house.
I'm pretty sure Alpha Daniel knows I had been sneaking out through the secret door on my first nights here in order to let Beau run free. Why else would he wink at me one time when I came back in the middle of the night after running towards the west side of their territory. He was near the secret door but didn't ask me where I came from.
