it's her
The door opened after a slight knock. Karen walked in. Her long hair held back in a ponytail revealing her beautifully sharp jawline, her blue eyes lined. She smiled gently and walked in. Today she was dressed in a black knee-length skirt a burgundy shirt and a necklace with a red ruby resting on her sternum which matched the verseche heels. She is Robert's personal assistant and the only one who gets to speak freely with him. She has been working for him as his personal assistant for four years since she graduated. Hank was a top business man in the city with more than three companies. Not many people knew his face and ever gotten the opportunity to speak with him and take a cup of coffee together. His life was a living maze and rarely talked about it even with Karen. She had turned out to be more than a personal assistant to him but also a close friend whom he can rely on.
"Morning boss? You came early today. The secretaries are waiting for you. Do I call them in?Ooh and Link's daughter is here too maybe if you choose her you can strengthen business ties "
"Aren't you qualified to run this companies now. How many are they?
She sighed softly the answer was expected that was how he showed his love.
"Five. All of them qualify in one way or another in what you wanted so now what remains is you to draft them."
" Ok call them in"
Karen walked slowly and swiftly to the door opened then walked out appearing after a few minutes with a lady following behind her. Robert didn't look up when they entered. Karen offered her a seat opposite him. She was a beautiful lady with amber eyes dark hair and plump lips. Although she answered all the questions well without stuttering they both knew she was not getting the job. Her lack of confidence and constant averting eye contact sold her. After she left Robert sighed and took a mild gulp of water from a bottle. The other two were much better. Karen dismissed the forth one as she had done with all the others. She told her to tell the last interviewee to come in on her way out. The woman was slightly shorter than Karen with the front part of her hair was tied away in a neat ponytail sharpening her facial features. She sat down after saying hi to the two and carefully placed her documents on the table.
"Good morning sir? I'm Astrid I applied for the job so that I can be able to support myself and complete my studies. I have umm.. three years experience and I was a former employee... Sorry I shouldn't say that."
" No it's ok."
"Thank you"
The room went silent and then Karen took the initiative to ask her some questions. Robert dismissed her after the interview was over. She looked at Robert who was now lost in deep thoughts or maybe he was just tired which he rarely shows. Karen left a bit later. Her office was a door away from his. As she was about to open the door to enter she saw the last interviewee Astrid knock on Robert's office then after a minute she entered. That was unlike him he rarely let's anyone new to his office most of the time he sends them over to her. She smiled then entered her office. Astrid close the door behind her and stood there looking at the man sitting in front of her. The window behind him brought in natural light in the office making it brighter. He was deeply engrossed in his computer his face carried a dominant aura with the relaxed and controlled breaths he was taking. He looked like a sculpture. His hair tied into a low ponytail behind his head leaving two strands hanging down his face on either sides.
"Are you going to stand there the whole day"
She had not realised how long she had been staring at him untill he asked the question.
"No.... I'm so sorry I had left with these documents forgetting to give them to you. "
"You can leave them there I'll check in them later"
She shuffled on her feet and left the office closing the door behind her.All this while she could not believe how well the interview had gone. She was all smiles. Now she can make her father proud. She had left home the second day after celebrating her eighteenth birthday. Though her father was among the top businessmen in the state she had promised to leave home and go and work herself off from the beginning till she attains the title her father would want her to have. They had not been getting along for years after her mother had died The only thing she remembered is her father telling them not to go to the mall that time he will take them later on.This was unlike him as he is always busy with work. Astrid had managed to convince her mother to take her at that time. As they were coming back the got involved in an accident. The mother died instantly together with the driver. Astrid had hit her and stayed on ICU for a month.
