TRAPPED

SOLANE Everyone's focus shifted to my presence, waiting for me to take out the bracelet. “What are you waiting for… Christmas?” Rizz asked sarcastically. I grabbed my bracelet and looked into his eyes. “It seems you haven't heard me before!” He moved his face closer to mine and clenched his chiseled shaved jaws. My fingers slowly slid the bracelet to the edge of my wrist while my mind was weaving a plan to get out of the situation. “Jade bracelets are pretty rare nowadays.” He tilted his head, intimidating me with his ocean-blue eyes. “My father gave it to me. It's special.” Words came out of my mouth. “Special for you, not for us!” He scoffed. The loose strands on the back of my neck arose, holding onto fear of getting caught. “You're wasting too much time!” He said, grabbing my wrist. “What are you doing?” My voice raised at him. “Giving you a helping hand.” The corner of his mouth curved. His grip on the edge of my wrist pulled down the bracelet to half of my palm. My eyes widened in horror. Just when he was about to take it out through my fingers, my free hand pushed his chest, and he stumbled one foot away from me. His gaze noticed his white shoes, then slowly looked up at my face. The push was light; no one else witnessed it, but Rizz felt it. He narrowed his eyes. I brought trouble upon my shoulders on the very first day. He stepped forward, intending to question me. Suddenly, a strong alarm echoed through the entire academy. “Rizz, let's go!” Kelly grabbed his left arm. Passing me a death stare, he walked away with her. “What's going on? I murmured, sliding up my bracelet to my wrist. Chaos filled the academy. Everyone was running towards a particular wooden door. Accidentally, a student bumped into me. “Sorry!” He apologized, fixing his glasses. He turned around in a hurry, yet… “Wait a minute!” My voice stopped him from leaving. “Where's everyone going?” I inquired. “Jay Manchester got into a fight with another student. He's the academy's troublemaker.” The boy answered. “We don't have time to stand here!” He clutched my wrist and dragged me towards the wooden door. The door opened to a basketball court. The students were gathered around the black seats to witness the aggressive fight between two boys. One was standing without wounds, whereas the other was almost on the verge of losing consciousness. “Why aren't they stopping them?” My voice whispered to the boy standing next to me. “No one messes with Jay!” The boy said, anxious and scared. In the middle of their fight, Rizz jumped into the court and shoved Jay with a strong force. My eyes couldn't see Jay's face, he was hiding behind a black hoodie. “ENOUGH!” Rizz groaned angrily. “Rizz and Jay are sworn enemies. The entire academy is divided into two teams. Students like us are on Rizz’s side while all the troublemakers are on Jay's side.” “Troublemakers?” My brows furrowed. “Students who never follow the rules and get into unnecessary fights. They never attend any classes and spend half of their time chilling on the rooftop. Typical bullies.” He explained in a malice tone. “Why did you hit him?” Rizz questioned Jay. “He filed a complaint against us stating we smoke and drink on the rooftop.” Jay's husky voice traveled to my ears. Rizz turned his head to the student behind him. “Is it true?” Rizz raised a brow. The student nodded his head. “I never get into unnecessary fights…unless someone provokes me.” Jay stretched his neck on either side. “The disciplinary committee decides what is allowed and not. Understand, buddy?” Rizz rested his palm on that student’s shoulder and muttered calmly. The student gulped. “I will take care of the complaint but you deserve a punishment for beating up another student. It is against the rules.” Rizz turned his head to Jay. “Your damn rules!” Jay looked up at the ceiling and a smirk on the corner of his lips revealed itself beneath the long hoodie. “You’re suspended for a week.” Rizz announced the punishment. Jay pushed Rizz's chest with his shoulder and walked out of the basketball court without revealing his face. “THE SHOW IS OVER!” Rizz commanded everyone to get back to their classes. Upon stepping into the main hall, the boy guided my way to the principal office. He was kind enough to offer help. “I am Ezek Winslet.” He introduced himself as we reached the door of the office. “I am Hailey Randle.” My lips replied. He nodded his head, smiling. Ezek appeared to be the only innocent student in the entire academy. He was good-looking but a bit doleful. His brown hair and light brown eyes were a match with each other, and he had a habit of fixing his glasses. “Why’s everyone afraid of Jay?” The curiosity was piling up inside me. “Jonathan Manchester, Jay's father, is Alpha's close friend.” Ezek moved closer to me and whispered into my ear. My eyes widened slightly. “Why don't you know this? This is not a secret in the pack.” Ezek murmured, scrunching up his face. “Ehm…I never paid attention to these things!” Ezek rolled his bottom lip, nodding his head, slowly accepting my answer. “See you later.” Having said that, my feet stepped into the principal's office. The principal is a woman in her forties. Blonde short hair up to her shoulders and light makeup hiding wrinkles on her face. Amina Waldorf. “Have a seat, dear.” She said, soft and polite. I perched on the red cushion chair while she was sitting on a black queen-sized throne on the other side of the table. “Victor Randle did a great job. That lonely man should have adopted you a long time ago.” Her words muttered softly. My lips forced a smile. “Anyway, the school year just started, so no worries, darling.” She was sweet but my gut feeling told me otherwise. Her fingers pressed a small red button under the table, and her assistant rushed inside. “Yes, Madam?” A man in his sixties. “This is Hailey’s admission file. Keep it well in the documents room.” She extended her hand toward the man. The man grabbed my file from her hands and left the office. The documents room had deatils on every student. “Your classes are starting tomorrow. Go to your dorm and take a rest.” She crossed her fingers on the table. I got up from the chair and quietly stepped out of the room, closing the door behind me. There was a notice board outside the principal's office and a list of dorm numbers on a white paper was pasted on it. Mine was 214. A green garden beside a beautiful lake was separating the dorm building from the academy. A wooden bridge was built over the lake to reach the dorm building. The dorm building was antique, polished with the charm of history. Long hallways and so many rooms on the three floors. My room was on the second floor. Stepping into my room, my gaze noticed a pink suitcase next to the bed. Victor had bought girly dresses for me and sent them to the dorm one day earlier. “That old brat. Pink, seriously?” He told me that he had a surprise for me!!! The room was cozy. There was nothing much, a bed, a wooden wardrobe, an antique clock on the wall in front of the bed, and a huge glass window on the wall next to the bed. Feeling exhausted, my head rested on the white pillow. "I have finally entered the academy, Hale." My lips murmured before falling asleep. Hale appeared in my dream, smiling. Suddenly, blood splashed over his face. "HALE!" I screamed, waking up from the dream and sitting straight. Sweat covered my forehead and my eyes noticed the ticking clock pointed at 12 am. It was time for my first move. I changed into my hunter's uniform as the material was more flexible for me to move around. A black tight jumpsuit with black boots. My plan was simple…Sneak into the documents room and steal all the copies of the male admissions. Victor promised to meet me outside the gate at 2 am. He will send those copies to Toby, his nephew, to verify everyone's background information. Alpha's son was using a fake ID. He would be caught in no time. When the clock hit 12:30 am, my feet sneaked out of the glass window in my room and headed straight to the academy. The entire surrounding was enveloped with silence, not a single soul outside. The rule of the disciplinary committee stated that no one should step out after 11 pm. I broke their first rule!!! Upon reaching the front part of the academy, my eyes noticed the door was locked. I pulled out a small pin from my hair and pushed it inside the lock. The door unlocked with a clicking sound, and my feet slowly entered the main hall. There was no security inside the hall. Sneaking through the darkness, my steps approached the documents room a little far from the principal's office. I noticed it while talking to Ezek in the corridor. My fingers used the same pin method with the lock of the documents room. There were tons of admission files. According to the rumors, Alpha's son was enrolled in the year 2025. My feet walked over to the shelf of that year. The files resembled thick brown books. I touched a file in the middle, and a loud siren reverberated through the walls of the academy. “What's going on?” My eyes widened. “SOMEONE BROKE INTO THE ACADEMY!” Someone shouted from outside. The sound of several boots approaching the documents room reached my ears. The file slipped from the grip of my hands and dropped to the floor.
