The Plan
Sitting at the restaurant I tap on my phone continuously, trying to manage my work that I left for this stupid date. Ughhh!!! I hate being on blind dates. You’d have to try, to know a complete stranger unwillingly. I am turning 27 this year. Being the eldest one in the family, I had been busy with my studies and then handling my business and NGO. Surprising, but I never dated a single guy, had many friends which were boys and ended up making them my “brothers”.
Now here I am on my best friend’s threat, attending Mr. Stranger who does not seem to arrive quickly. Oh Well, it has only been 5 mins since I arrived. My best friend Claire knows I am way to punctual and impatient sometimes, hope she did not find a complete opposite for me.
Keeping my thoughts aside I look upto the entrance to immediately find a man walking to my table. He’s the one I have been hiding from, he’s still in his office clothes looking all professional. He’s handsome as hell, I try not to open my mouth as I see his chiseled jawline, his ruffled hair and those bulging biceps. Is he my date for tonight? I am way too engrossed in my thoughts that I did not notice he has reached me. Awkward!!
"Hi, I am Alexander Knight", his crispy voice ran through my ears. I have seen him in business magazines for being the most eligible billionaire bachelor and at my NGO quite frequently in last few months. Already mesmerized, I control my stance and shake his hands as shivers run down through my spine o_o "Nice to meet you, I am Ava Williams".
Alexander’s POV
Waking up at 7, I start my day with morning run, a bit of gym and exercise. By the time I am done showering it’s already 8:30, Uncle Dave who has been driving me since my school days is already waiting for me with breakfast in his hands. I smile at him and mouth a thank you taking the breakfast from him which Aunt Rose prepared. I have been grateful to him and his wife Aunt Rose for taking care of me like their own child. I study the papers for a business deal that I have to crack today while having breakfast in the backseat.
As I reach my office I see everyone succumb under my cold gaze. I am icy cold to my employees when they slack off, but it appears everyone is afraid of me. Many times girls have tried to throw themselves on me and they end up being out of the company which obviously added to my personality as a gay. Yes, I have heard rumors about me being gay as I never entertained girls and never had any girlfriend or flings.
It has been 8 ‘o’ clock in the evening already I still have work piled up, I receive a phone call for which I have been waiting for few days now. "Well, Hello to you Lucas, did you find all the information I needed?"
After hearing Lucas- my secret agent and the information he gathered, I immediately dial Cousin Xavier. "Hey Xave, I have a huge favour to ask, Can you tell Claire to organize a date night with her best friend Ava Williams?" I hear Xave chuckling behind and then he answers, "I see you finally found the girl that has whipped you with her charms", Claire joins in saying it’s a "hell yes!, I’ll be on 7th heaven if Ava becomes my sister in law but then pauses and says Alex are you serious with what you want from her? If it’s just play thing I won’t involve in this". At this before I answer Xave is the one backing me up. "Claire, have you ever seen me or Alex being involved with girls, you know Alex more than me. And you also know we don’t do plaything and one-night stands". When their bickering ends they focus their valuable attention towards me. Claire is the one to speak up this time, "Alex I’ll tell her to be ready by 6 PM tomorrow and you have to make sure to be on time because she is very punctual, we will choose a restaurant near your office to avoid any delay that you might do, is that ok with you?" I agree to that and end up the call.
I am excited to see her will be an understatement. I have had many sleepless nights because of her being on my mind all the time.
