" Hi. " His thick voice said again, a small smile easing onto his lips and she blinked.
" Hi. " She said back and she teared her eyes away from him, raising her glass only to realize it was empty.
She signaled to the bartender who came to her.
" I need another glass of scotch. " She said.
" I will have the same. " The guy said and she looked at him to find his green eyes still fixated on hers.
" Okay. " The bartender said, leaving and Sara licked her dry lips, watching him take the seat next to hers.
" You seem alone. " He said.
" I am. " She responded.
" Why? " He asked.
" Can't a lady decide to have a drink by herself? " She questioned, raising her brows at him.
" One as beautiful as you, No. " He responded.
She moved her mouth to talk but no words seemed to come out and they both stared at each other in silence. Sara gulped in tight, feeling uncomfortable by his intense green eyes which bored holes into hers.
" Here you go. " The bartender said, breaking the silence as he dropped two glasses of scotch on the table.
Sara teared her eyes away from him and immediately grabbed her drink, taking a long gulp and wincing slightly at the burn that came with it.
Get a hold of yourself, Sara. She said to herself within.
" Your dress, where'd you get it from? " He asked and looked at him.
" Why, you wanna get one for your girlfriend? " She questioned.
" No. Just wondering who I should compliment more. The stylist who made the dress or yourself who has managed to effortlessly look stunning in it. " He said and she blinked, staring at him..
" So you are not getting one for your girlfriend? " She asked and she smiled.
" I don't have a girlfriend. " He replied.
" Is that supposed to assure me? " She asked, lifting an eyebrow at him.
" Did it? " He asked back.
" No. " She responded sharply, grabbing her glass cup and taking a long sip.
" You look like you had a shitty day. " He mumbled and she licked her lips, turning her gaze to him.
" A shitty evening to be precise. " She said, dropping her glass cup..
" Is that why you scared off the first guy who came to talk to you? " He questioned and her brows creased.
" You saw that? " She asked, her brows narrowing.
" Yes. "
" And yet, you still walked up to me. Are you that confident I won't scare you off too? " She asked and he shrugged.
" Well, there is only one reason you haven't. "
" Which is? " She asked, lifting her brows and he leaned closer to her, his eyes staring deeply into her big, brown doe eyes and she inhaled sharply.
He smiled, flickering his eyes back to hers.
" You are enjoying my company. " He responded, leaning backwards and she exhaled sharply, letting in all the oxygen she had lost. She licked her dry lips and shook her head in surprise at his confidence. " I mean, I can say for sure that I am enjoying yours as well. " He added and she tried so hard to resist her smile but she couldn't.
" Ah, finally. You smiled. I would say I am making progress.. " He said and Sara stared at him.
All evening, she had felt like s**t and this man, this beautiful man right in front of her had managed to make her smile. The thought alone made her smile broaden as she grabbed her drink and took a sip from it before gently dropping the glass cup.
" Have you... Have you ever felt like what you want doesn't matter, like your feelings don't matter? " She asked, looking at him and he licked his lips.
" Everyday. " He mumbled and she chuckled softly, tucking her hair behind her ear. She shook her head, knowing she wasn't supposed to be relieved but she was. She was relieved that someone could relate to her pain.
" Is someone making you feel like your feelings don't matter? " He asked and Sara licked her lips, gazing down.
" It's my... " She trailed off, gulping in tight and then she shook her head.
Telling him about her problems won't change anything and she definitely doesn't want to look pathetic in front of a stranger.
" It's fine if you don't want to talk about it. I have had a shitty day as well and trust me, all I want to do is forget about it. "
" Well, cheers to that. " She said, raising her glass and he clinked his with hers before they both drank from their glasses.
She licked her lips, running a hand through her hair and he took his teeth between his lips, running his fingertip around his glass and he so wished that he was running them around her small full and lips instead of her pretty, flawless legs..
" You know, having a shitty evening doesn't mean you should have a shitty night as well. " He said and she looked at him.
" I mean that's why I am here drowning myself in alcohol. "
" And you are going to be waking up the next morning with a really bad hangover "
" Care much? " She asked and he smiled lowering his gaze to her thighs and he licked his lips..
" I mean I know of other ways to forget about your troubles. " He said, lifting his eyes back to her.
" Ways that wont bring any pain but pleasure. " He added and she looked at him, her brows squinting.
" I have a room upstairs where you and I could go and forget all about our problems. " He said and Sara licked her lips
" You want us to have s*x. " She said and he smiled.
" Yes. " He responded and Sara shook her head, grabbing her glass and chugging down the rest of the content down her throat in one gulp.
" God, I am such a fool. " She mumbled, dropping the glass cup and standing to her feet.
" Hey, where are you going? " He asked but she ignored him, grabbing her bag and started walking away.
" Hey! " He called, following her through the crowd. " Common, wait up. " He called after her but she ignored, trying to find her way to the exit. He finally caught up to her and he grabbed her hand.
" Hey. " He said.
" What!? " She yelled, turning to him and the people around looked at them.
" Common. " He muttered, dragging her with him to a corner which was more secluded and free of people.
" Let go of me! " She said, freeing her hand from his and he raised his hands up.
" Calm down, okay. I just want to know what happened. "
" What happened? Oh, did you forget the part where you asked me to sleep with you!? " She snapped.
" No. Yes, I want to f**k you! What's the big deal in that? We will just be two strangers who had a shitty day having fun. " He said and Sara scoffed unbelievably
" Wow. For a second there, I thought... I thought that you cared but you only wanted into my pants. " She said, turning away from him but he grabbed her hand, pinning her against the wall and a soft gasp escaped her mouth.
" Listen, love. It's all part of the game alright? Yes, I cared but maybe not as much as I cared about feeling the tenderness of your skin against mine and my lips against yours. Definitely not as much as I cared about burying my face deep beneath you and making you scream my name. " He said in one breathe and Sara gulped in tight as goosebumps spread all over her skin. She stared into his green eyes which glowed in the darkness and she swallowed deeply, forcing saliva down her throat which had gone dry.
" I am not interested. " She said, her voice coming out in a whisper and he scoffed.
" I thought we were past you playing hard to get, huh!? " He asked and she licked her lips.
" I am not. " She gritted out.
" Oh common, love. We had a spark, alright. I want you and I am sure as hell, you do too so stop acting like you don't. " He whispered, leaning his face closer to hers and she inhaled sharply, finding it immensely difficult to breathe.
He slowly used a hand to push her hair back and leaned his face to her ear and Sara swallowed tightly, feeling his hot breath fan her neck.
" Just a night and you would forget you ever saw this face. " He whispered, kissing her ear lobe and Sara shut her eyes, folding and unfolding her sweaty hands..
Hell, she wanted to push him away but she couldn't. Her whole body felt weak and she literally didn't feel any strength in her. Sara licked her lips, arching her head and she shut her eyes, relishing to the feeling of his lips against her skin..
Maybe... Maybe this wasn't a bad idea. Maybe it wasn't. She could just forget about her parents, the company. Everything. He was a perfect distraction. A hot one. She thought.
" I will pay you any amount. Just name your price. Name any amount and it yours. " He said, grabbing her waist and she blinked her eyes open, pushing him away.
" What!? " She questioned, her brows lifted and he stared in confusion at her.
" Yes, I am more than willing to pay any amount. Just name your price. " He repeated Sara scoffed loudly.
" Are you kidding me, what makes you think I want your money? " She questioned and he scoffed, dipping his hands into his pocket.
" Everyone does. " He responded and she glared at him, feeling nothing but anger and disgust surge through her entire system.
She slowly counted her steps towards him and halted when she was an inch away.
" You need a w***e to f**k? Go find one elsewhere, you asshole! " She cursed and walked away, feeling the uttermost disappointment run through her entire system and he just stood there reeling in shock for a woman has never rejected him. Ever. He scoffed in disbelief, watching as she walked away until she disappeared from sight.
" Unbelievable. " He mumbled, biting his lip.
