A Doubt - Part 1

He had indeed lost his heart back then and probably he somehow managed to be alive, but the fact that his heart was intact in his body was the biggest question in his mind. He lost definitely wasn’t hallucinating which was evident when he heard the doctors said that he was near the accident site. So something might have definitely happened and that was quite mysterious indeed. ‘Well, maybe I should thank God for giving me a chance to live...”, although that was what he said, his emotions were quite uncontrollable. That was because the doctor came and said something which made his mind completely blank. “Um, if it’s alright, I would like you to come and indenting if they are really your parents...” At first Jay was confused, but when he arrived at the room where dead bodies were kept, he immediately understood that something terrible had definitely happened. The head doctor kept walking forward after entering the room and Jay followed quietly. His hands were trembling and his legs were trying to stop him from going ahead because he didn’t want to accept it. But he could t possible run away from the truth. He just kept on going until when the doctor reached the farthest end and stopped for a second. He then slowly removed the white blanket which had been covering a body and asked, “Is she your mom...?” ‘Lub Dub Lub dub’ His heart started to beat much more rapidly when he looked at the face of the women who was lying with her eyes closed. Tears shed from his eyes as of his eyes were the source of waterfall. Nevertheless, his heart was completely shattered just by the sight of his dead mother. “Yes... she is...”, that’s all he could say while wiping his own tears. The doctor looked at Jay with pitiful eyes because right after that he removed the blanket from another dead body which was just beside it. “And... is this your dad...?”, was what he asked. “...” Indeed, the body which was being showed was of his father, but he failed to find the words to tell anything. His voice was dead and he couldn’t muster even an ounce of strength. But somehow, he managed to reply, “Yes...” Even if he wouldn’t reply, the doctor could have understood after looking at his reaction. “Hmm... so sad...” “Anyway, thanks for your cooperation...”, he said this as if he wanted to tell that that’s all was what Jay had to do here. “Huh...?” Jay was a bit shocked and then asked, “What about Lily...?” He had already prepared himself to accept the truth that his one and only sister Lily was also dead, but when the doctor did t even mention about that, he was forced to ask. “Lily? Who is that?”, the doctor asked while scratching his head. “Uh, my sister...” Due to this confusion and questioning, his pain had reduced a bit, but that was infinitesimally small. “Sister?” “You had a sister too?”, the doctor asked with surprise. “Ha?” Jay didn’t have any answer to what he asked. Of course he has one and her name was Lily, but the fact that the doctor was asking this made him rather confused. ‘Maybe... maybe he isn’t aware...’, Jay thought and then looked at him intensely. He said, “Yes, I have a sister...” Jay was quite confident in what he was asking, but the doctor was confident in his own claim too. “No! You don’t have any sibling!” “Ha? I have! Her name is Lily and...” Despite what he said, the doctor wasn’t ready to believe him. Of course, how could he believe when that wasn’t mentioned in any of the past reports of their family. “If you don’t believe me then see for yourself!” The doctor pulled his hand and led him to the main chamber where many computers were kept. All the data that are to be fed are done here and this is probably the heart of the hospital which had thousands of informations and calculations. “See!” The doctor opened all the files about Jay and his family till date. He asked Jay to take a glance and while doing that, Jay’s eyes kept on widening. In none of them, Lily was mentioned. Furthermore, it was specifically mentioned that there was only one child to the family and that was Jay. “What the-“, Jay was totally confused. He no more understood what was going on. “Sigh, looks like your brain is fuzzy since your woke up just now or due to the shock...” “It would be best if you take a bit rest.” Jay nodded his head and just walked towards the wars in which he had been admitted since long. His gazes were towards the ground and he walked lifelessly while not caring about anything that was in his surrounding. ‘I... I have a sister...’ He could recall everything about her. All the memories that he has made with her were still green as if they had happened just a day before. Not even the slightest detail was missed. Of course, his memory was not that sharp, he could still recall everything to the tiniest detail. ‘What’s going on...?’ He panicked, he couldn’t believe what the doctor said and almost immediately ran towards the exit of the hospital. The doctor spotted him doing that and asked the guards to hold him down. “Boy! Stop right there!”, the guard, who was heavily built, dashed with all his might towards Jay who was about to exit the hospital. “Don’t you dare come in my way!”, Jay shouted at the top of his voice. The moment he shouted, His pupils turned red for a bit. The man who was running towards him also paused all of a sudden and didn’t move towards Jay anymore. “What are you doing? Stop him!”, of course the doctors were worried because they couldn’t just let any patient run away after all they care about them. But more than that they didn’t want him to escape without paying the fees. But right now, the man didn’t listen to the doctors and just stood like a statue while Jay successfully exited the hospital.
