The Heart

"No... No way..." Jay was completely terrified when he reached the area. Although he shouldn't have been able to see anything inside the dark tunnel, the flash light if his phone helped him. It would probably have been better if he hadn't seen the area because the only thing that he found there was dead bodies. The train was perfectly fine and was on it's track but there was no light flashing from the head light of the train. Furthermore, it seemed as if the lights from all the compartments had been turned off too for some reason. However, there was one peculiar thing that he saw there. There were many dead bodies lying on the sides of the trains and near the tracks. It seemed like all the fluid part form their body, that is blood, was sucked out from them. He could hardly think of anything else other than a vampire doing that because he had been a huge fan of vampires since he was young. He knew almost everything about them, despite the fact that all the thoughts were actually what a human mind had thought. But right now after seeing the people bodies, he realized that their bloods were really sucked out from them. He also spotted two prick like bite marks which were probably formed due to the fangs of the vampires near the neck portion. 'These...' He was awed to see that and was quite puzzled. For a moment he thought that it might have indeed been vampires that had done this, but then again he couldn't believe that they were indeed real. He just walked a step or two more when all of a sudden he could hear the screams. "No! Help me!" The moment he heard that, he dashed towards direction from which the noise had come. Although he couldn't find out which compartment it was from which the help was asked, he at least tried to approach the area in order to figure that out. "Someone! Anyone!" "Please!" When he had almost reached the third compartment, the scream became much clearer. He then hoped into the compartment and dashed inside while flashing the light from his phone in order to take a look at the path in which he was running. 'Huh?' He paused all of a sudden when he looked at the scene that was right in front of him. "No... that's..." He barely had any words to describe the situation because right in front of him, there were 3 creatures that were sucking the blood from a girl who seemed to be barely 12-14 years old. Jay was too terrified to even move from that place. Regardless, he was still flashing the light from the torch at the 3 strange creatures that were in front of him. "Argh! What's that light!!!" One of the creature screamed when the light fell on it's face. All the three creatures turned their gazes towards the light source however they failed to find Jay since the light was obstructing their vision. All they could see was that someone was standing, but the face was not seen at all. 'I need to run...' 'I will die...' Those were the constant thoughts that ran in his mind but his almost dead legs failed him at the moment. They denied to even move a single inch. He had no other choice but to hit the legs once or twice only after which he could feel them again. He started to run right after turning back due to which the direction of the flash changed too. Thanks to that, the creatures could see him run and were no longer put on hold since the light was not shining towards them anymore. 'Slurp' "I'll take care of him..." One of the creatures just licked the girl whose blood was completely sucked and then dashed towards Jay. Jay did his best to run away as fast as he could but unfortunately he bumped into a pole and ended up falling while his phone ended up sliding further and ultimately ended up out of the compartment. "No... that..." He had extended his hand towards the phone but then all of a sudden he couldn't move. It was as if the pressure above him had increased by several folds and he was ultimately slammed onto the ground. He turned his head slowly towards his back only to find a pair of red eyes glaring at him. He recalled the creatures which he had seen earlier when the light had flashed on them. 'They... they are vampires...' 'Definitely vampires...' 'Don't tell me...' *gulp* He knew that his end was near but even now he had hopes of escaping by running towards the exit so that he could get the phone again. Unfortunately, even before he could do that, he felt a sudden jolt as if someone had pierced his body with something. 'Huh...' 'Lub Dub Lub Dub Lub Dub' He could clearly hear his heart beating, but couldn't feel the it. He even moved his right hand towards his heart region, but other than blood which was flowing like a fountain, he couldn't feel anything else. "This..." He could feel that a hole was drilled in his body, but he had no idea as how it had happened. He couldn't understand what had happened when all of a sudden he realized that he had lost all the strength in his body. 'No way...' His body ended up touching the ground completely yet again as contrast to the kneeling position in which he was earlier. 'What just...' 'Boom' All of a sudden the ceiling of the compartment broke. Thanks to that the everything became visible probably due to the light of the moon which was currently red! But that all didn't matter to him, what shocked and concerned him was that his heart was no longer with him. He could clearly see the vampire holding his heart in his right hand as if it was some soft sponge. "My... my heart..." "..." To be continued...
