Chapter 14

Reason did not seem enough to make Analise want to stay. She was now very determined to leave. I knew she was not ready to do so though. She had barely even started training and she wanted to dash off to battle an entire castle. Analise did not understand the gravity of the situation. She would be outnumbered and did not even have a real handle on her magic yet. I just wanted to make her understand. I thought by sharing my memory with her, she would be able to see King Cardwell for the threat that he was. Instead it fueled her and made her so enraged she would not listen to reason. I just needed to calm her down enough to make her aware of what a dangerous situation she would be putting herself into. That beautiful i***t was going to get herself killed if I did not do something about it. Well there was one way I could buy myself a little time. I put my hand on her head and pushed her into a deep sleep. Well she was not going to be very happy when she woke up from that but it would at least slow her down for the time being. I had to think of another solution and quick.   I lifted Analise up and carried her to bed. Her book was on the nightstand and I picked it up. I would need to do a quick refresher on creation magic. I would not be able to wield it but I had read enough about it that I could help coach Analise with hers. I just needed to look over the chapter to help stimulate what I already knew. It had been awhile since I last attempted creation and it did not go well. I opened the book and flipped through the pages to find the chapter.   Chapter 7: Creation magic Creation magic the most difficult and most sought-after power of a wielder. It is a power that if used correctly has no limitations other than one’s imagination. It is extremely versatile in its usage. Learning the properties of what makes creation magic possible is hard to define since so little is known about this domain. Most believe that only the most well practiced of wielders will learn it. Some say it is an inherited property from a generational line. Others believe it is just innate talent that drives it. One thing that is for sure, a wielder who can control creation magic has the potential for unlimited power. If you are a wielder with this great gift you will need to work diligently to hone your craft more than others. Mastery takes time and patience but soon the possibilities for you will be endless. Start with something small like making things out of wood and shaping it with your mind. Make several wooden figurines. The more detailed your creations become the more control you will start to realize you have over your domain. After mastering this you can move onto bigger and more complicated works like weapons or even large buildings. You are only limited by your own mind.   Alright, wooden blocks...I would need a lot more of those. I needed to give Analise every chance to succeed in her fool hearted mission. The best thing I could do is equip her with training on her strongest weapon. Creation magic could be her ticket inside. I had never seen anyone wield it before Analise, but with how naturally it came to her it was no doubt that it was her domain. My job would be to sharpen her domain like the weapon it was. My hope being that she would at least stick around for me to help her with it.   I was outside chopping up blocks when I heard the door to the cottage slam open.   “What the hell, Zachariah?!”   She was clearly pissed and I was a little afraid.   “Did you really put me to sleep?”   “Yes, but hear me out. It was for your own good.”   She looked ready to punch me.   “Wait!” I put my hands up to blocks her fist. “I did a little research on your domain. I think if you work on it, that could be your key to defeating Cardwell.”   “I have done enough training! I am ready to fight him now!”   “Now or later? The difference of a couple more days of training could increase your chances of winning. If you go now, you will lose, and you still will not have your memories back. I am just asking you to give yourself a better chance at least.”   “Ok.”   “Ok?”   “Yes, fine, whatever you win. Your plan makes sense.”   Finally! I thought she would never agree. She was as stubborn as she was gorgeous. I did not think she was going to listen to me for a second.   “Maybe you are not as much of an i***t as I thought.”   “And you are not as nice as I originally thought, but that is not exactly my fault. You know? Seeing as though I was brainwashed...” she glared at me.   “Touché. Alright now catch.” I threw a block of wood to her.   She caught it with levitation without even flinching. Analise’s levitation was now second nature to her. She had caught on to it very quick and I had a feeling that creation would be the same.   “What am I supposed to do with this?”   “Create. I need you to make little figurines, each one more detailed then the last. Take as much time as you need though. I need you to focus on the power and your control over it.”   “Well I am not really sure how to control it, if I want something it just kind of appears.”   “Which is good but it needs to be more focused so you can get things with more details. Sometimes precision is the thing that can save you from life and death.”   She held the wooden block in one hand and covered it with the other. She closed her eyes.   “Any special requests? I am having a creative block right now. Get it? Creative block.” She said pointing to the block. “But for real I need a suggestion.”   “How about a turtle?”   She opened her hands and inside was a little wooden turtle. It was simple and small but yet still amazing to me. Analise looked up and smiled at me.   “I did it!”   “Yes, you did! Now do the rest of these blocks. I want each and every one of these more intricate than the last!”   This was it. Her domain. She had taken to it so easily and I would bring lying if I said I was not jealous. Most wielders aspire to be creators. For now, I was just proud that she accomplished it, as well as relieved she would be staying longer. I kept buying time but I knew it would eventually run out. She would leave my life just as quickly as she entered it and there was nothing, I could do to stop it. So, I would just enjoy the time we had left before Cardwell ruined everything.
